Happy to help
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.

poor little mite... as soon as I read your symptoms, I though "meningitis" and am sorry to hear he has that... a friends dog has recently had this and it has been a long battle to get her right.... saying that, she is an older girl. Lets pray for a full recovery..

Oh poor pup. We had a cat once who had meningitis and she made a full recovery, reasonable quickly considering how poorly she was, but she was only a year old too. Hopefully your adoreable little boy will do the same. xx

Just found this thread, last tue night my 3 yr old JRT Steiff bear went out for toilet with my other 6 dogs and he was on 3 legs holding his off side hind very high, he does not cock his leg too pee never has and I bred him so knew something was wrong, examined it no marks or swelling but he was sore, called on call vet but was engaged somI gave him Metacalm, then got vet they said I had done what they wld do so rest him and see how he was in morning. Wed morning he was unable to use back legs and well seemed drunk, admitted to vets x rays clear bloods white blood cells high which cld mean infection or they can be raised if stressed and he hates vet but they said he was calm. Referred to a spinal specialist where I took him on Thur (2hrs from where I live) he has had more x rays, Mylopathy which came back clear and fluid taken from spinal cord at base of neck fine and top of tail but it was high in protein, I am going to see him tomorrow but when I last spoke to his vet in charge on Friday they were between FCE or Meningitis he is eating fine.
