long story short. i was at the yard yesterday, and in a stable across from me a women was mucking out her horse, he's a big lad and does through his weight around some times, but, she'd given him a haynet to keep him quiet, of course, if you're stood in the same position for a while your bound to get a bit stiff? so he only picked one leg then bam! she was hitting him with the fork! her OH came in and asked what was going on and she replied "he kept turned his back end on me!" LIAR!! i saw everything!! the horsethen walked up to her to show her a bit of love and affection but OMG, she hit him over the head her OH went into the stable grabbed hold of the fork and they wre effing and jeffing at each other for at least 5 minutes! meanwile the poor horse was obviousley very distressed, the whites of his eye's showing and everything. she came down yesterday and put him in a spare stable and said to me "he's surprisingly changed his attitude today" wouldn't you? he was still petrified! a dad was putting his daughter on his shaulders, and he shot to the back of his stable! poor thing

some people just shouldn't have horses. Or cats, dogs, budgies - anything.
Seems like she's had a row with her OH & just can't put it aside.

thats appaling behaviour. she needs that horse taking off her to make her realise what she had and how much he gets her through when she is sad or how much joy and love he brings into her life every day. horses are so loyal and love unconditionally there is no excuse on this earth for taking a fork to your horse!

Absolutely agree although I did smack a young colt once with a poop scoop when the b*****d got me in the corner and laid into me relentlessly with back feet. I ended up in hospital and to this day I have no idea what set him off Modified to add the only reason I clacked him with the poop scoop was that he had me on the floor and I didn't see how I could get out. He jumped forward and I got to the door. My thoughts were that i must have spooked him and not that he behaved like that without a cause..still scared me though and it took me a while to get my confidence back with him.

I agree with making sure the horse knows its place, and doesnt walk all over you, bit hitting it with a fork is too much.. There is being the boss of a horse and there is being evil!!!!

It makes me so angry people like this. I bought a Sec D last year and had to deal with consequences of someone like this. He had been beaten within an inch of his life. Some people are pure evil.
I can't keep my mouth shut anymore. Can't stand it!
