Well my miniature baby I bought lame on saturday has a injured stifle and the vets prescribed anitibiotics and box rest. I have never had a horse that has injured his stifle but apparently it can be quiet serious. Can anybody advise of their experiences

I would try a good equine physio. I always find them well worth the money and the really good ones will have lots of equipment that can speed up recovery. If you discuss the diagnosis over the phone they will say if their treatments will be of benefit and give a good idea of the cost incurred.
Have just re read your thread and see that the little chap is on antibiotics - does he have a wound or is this "just in case"? If there is a specific wound a physio would probably wait until this is healed. They would then be useful to ensure full tissue recovery and prevent any muscle wastage which could cause ongoing lameness within the patella/stifle area which is the main thing to watch for IMO.
Which area are you in - maybe someone on this board can recommend someone?
Good luck to the small chap....and pictures please!

Will try to get pictures sorted this week, he is fab, and we totally are head over heals already. He is so so quiet though, which I dont think he should be. He just loves being cuddled and scratched.
Thank you for your advice, I mentioned this to our vet who said for the moment keep it still, phsio would cause him too much pain, but its certainely something to think about in a few weeks time.
