brought my pony in today to find that half og the tail was hanging off. on closer inspection (when i pulled it) it can away right from the dock and it had huge dry scabby bit on the top? what is it and why has the tail fallen out. i had a shetland before who had small patch of it but this is nearly the whole dock
anyone any ideas??

oo-er! No ideas really, just to say, I have a chunk at home which came off one of my ponies a couple of years ago, as you say, with large scaby bit at the top! It wasn't half the tail though, and has grown back perfectly fine. I just thought perhaps she'd rubbed on something

i dno! its pretty rank tbh lol! its starting to grow back but its like the docks just shed!

sweet itch? I think that is quite common in some shetlands...try posting in the pony bit for a few more responses
