it just seems strange that a big agricultural show such as this one would cancel with 2 weeks to go until the show. if it has been cancelled, would it not be possible to move it somewhere near by like myerscough??

There is nothing on the website However, it wouldn't be able to move to Myerscough, as there seems to be a Western show on all weekend...

Thanks for that "get it right" but when i spoke to the chief light horse steward last night they said it was cancelled without doubt . So think a sorry may be in order for the poor person who was obviously just trying to keep everyone informed and you saw fit to tear a strip off them !

cancellation letter is on the website now ........ Letter from the Chairman 9th July 2007 Due to adverse and continuing poor weather, and to ensure the safety of people and animals, we have taken the hard decision to cancel the RLAS Show this year. Whilst it does not remove the disappointment, many other outdoor events have also been cancelled. We consulted the key agencies who advised that there will few windows of weather good enough to allow the show site to drain sufficiently to enable it to take the large amount of heavy show traffic and the wear generated by the many animal classes. The Society sincerely regret this decision and would have liked to postpone the show to a later date in the year. However, we can not replicate the quality and standard planned for this July show. We wish to thank those who were planning to exhibit at the show for their support. As Chairman of the Society I thank everyone involved and hope that your support will continue as we begin to plan for the show next year which will be at our new site on the A6 at Myerscough. It would be helpful if telephone calls to the office could be avoided so as to allow us to deal with the many issues associated with this cancellation Gordon Roberts Chairman
