The large riding horse class was won by Charles le moignan on a fab looking bright bay horse he also won the championship. Vicky Hesfords small was reserve. So Charles won the large hacks and the Riding Horse Champ - that would explain why he and his wife watched the entire HW Cob class with the judge of the riding horse and hack classes, all laughing and chatting away together. It was so blatant. Surely judges/committee members must know how bad this looks and how the wrong impression could be given to other competitors. Innocent or not, I would have thought Committee Members should know better.

We saw this too and all commented that yes they may be friends but please don't talk and chat so openly when you've just been judged by that person and are about to go under them again. Could their noises have been any browner? Shame on you Mr Charles, just when we thought you were a good guy for objecting earlier in the year to a producer being judged by a client.

Er... Charles was actually dropped to second in the large hacks! Well he certainly didn't hold it against the judge! I just think it is terrible behaviour to be so blatant.

We had a horse in the cobs and riding horse class and strongly viewed our opions on what was going around the ring side, after charlie won riding horse class and second in hacks and to top it all won the championship as well., and low and behold after he had been in the cob class and won!!!!!!!!!!! He was stood with the judge what had judge him in the classes at the ring side laughing with his wife, and probably the owners. Who in there right mind would do that. It does not look very good or professional and especially after what he did at osbaldeston, if he wants to do any talking he should be out of sight or may back at the horsebox, (which he may prefer). totally outrageous.

With reference to your comments regarding Charles Le Moignan. I have known Charles for several years and he is not only a top producer of horses, he is a very honest, hard working and likeable guy. The comments you have made towards the end of your piece are very personnal and way below the belt. I was at Northern Horse on sunday and i too saw Charles chatting with the ride judge from the Hacks and Riding horses, but this must have been at least an hour after thoses classes had finished. The judge in question had no connection to the cob classes whatso ever. I read with interest that you had a horse in both the Cob and Riding horse classes so your horses were obviously well beaten by Charles in both. Sounds to me like sour grapes. P.S I have no connection with Charles at all but feel he is getting unfair comments made on this matter.

Rigrag - do you not think that Charles is laying himself open to such comments by his behaviour? Do you think that it is perfectly acceptable for him or the judge to be so open about their friendship? Would you not have felt a little miffed if you had just competed against him, and then witnessed this? Its not sour grapes, its just really really annoying, especially when it is so blatant. Charles is a committee member and therefore should set a good example.

Yes i can see your point but what i do not agree with is the comments you made about Charles what was very personnal. I have on a number of occasions witnessed competitors and judges openly talking at ring side within minutes of classes ending. I personally think the whole thing has been blown out of proportion and a line should now be drawn under it. Lets all get on with the job we love to hate. Showing that is!!!

Rigrag, I made no personal comments about Mr Le Moignan - I think you may have me confused with another poster, and given your comments about Jayne Webber on another thread....well, enough said!
