I like the judge "well, could have won the class, but cocked it up!" And the man saying people from such places as Lowestoft and Birmingham could win...... Hilarious. Just hope the programme doesn't become a caricature of the showing world... Shame I don't have Sky.

Can't wait! I hope this doesnt make non-horsey people think we are all like that though Some of us take it in a much more light hearted fashion!

Oh blimey!! That trailer makes the world of showing so hoity toity it's untrue!! "Birmingham and Lowestoft" - LOL - heard it all now ;D Let's hope there's more variety in the class of competitor than on that trailer!! Modified to add thanks Snowflake - very interesting

Looks interesting shame it is going to be on Sky. Though I felt very sorry for the small child who threw up due to nerves. which must have been made worse by being under the pressure of being filmed for TV.
Maybe it is a good job that it will be on Sky as if it was on normal tv I am sure there would be a lot of negative comments related to that child. I never feel very comfortable about children being filmed in these sort of documentaries.
I have never been involved in show pony showing and have always imagined it was posh rich mummies and children under pressure to win. I guess the reason why I think this is that showing is not something that is taught at riding schools/pony club so showing families tend to have a tradition of doing it and there are not many newcomers from poorer backgrounds where children may have learnt to ride at riding schools.

I felt so sorry for the girl who threw up, but her Mum was very supportive and not at all pushy. The mother at the start, however, was a different proposition - typical pushy mother in my opinion. Even though I know there's money and all sorts at stake in showing, at the end of the day children are children, and they cannot be put under so much pressure. I think fun needs to be kept firmly in view....

Lol. That looks fab. Can't wait. I wouldn't worry about the girl throwing up. I used to be so high on adrenalin as a kid when I was hunter trailing that I used to throw up every time. Usually halfway round the course. The kid didn't seem too bothered. (I'll probably get hung for saying that now too!!)

Looks fab! To be honest, it's not always the parents that are pushy, ever since I was tiny I pushed myself. If I did the tiniest thing wrong (even something like changing my diagonal too early or allowing someone to cut me up) I would be kicking myself about it all day. My mum was never pushy, always wanted to compete for fun but I didn't, I was in it to win it! I hated how 'un-pushy' my mum was but she's just as pushy as myself now which is a lot better for me. I'm better under pressure! So it isn't always the parents, if the child is pushing themselves (the children in the trailer seem to be very dedicated) then they will do so. Does anyone know when the programme will be showing?

Well that looks so grim Looks like it's been edited for effect not to acurately portray what really happens. Hopefully it will be amusing rather than offensive.

I just told my housemate (who knows absolutely zero about horses or showing) and was doing the voices of people from it - it sounds so OTT & super duper and I really think it almost takes the p*** of the showing world! I really loved the dads in it, especially the one that was like i dont like standing around all day and the other one who is quite sweet shedding a little tear about his girl winning. I'm quite upset I dont have sky now though!!
And, as my mum always says, "its what comes out the trailer that matters!"

Just watch pilot on my computer. It makes it look as though most of the people showing are posh and have posh voices. Not sure it will be a good advert for showing. Don't have sky though so will probably not see the rest of it.

I I don't think it will be an advert for showing it is just about entertainment, in the same way as big fat gypsy weddings entertains people and does not do much for travellers. I have a feeling the general public will just be laughing or ridiculing those in the documentary if it the trailer is anything to go by as it is so far removed from most people's lives that it would be hard to relate to. Just watch pilot on my computer. It makes it look as though most of the people showing are posh and have posh voices. Not sure it will be a good advert for showing. Don't have sky though so will probably not see the rest of it.

I watched the clip and laughed , then watched it with my 7 year old who said Im not posh and I can't get my pony that shiny I better not go to that show or people will laugh at me . she did say Lowestoft and birmingham sound posh places unlike Blackpool where we're from . So I guess that says it all !!

Will someone with Sky post the actual date (when known) when it is to be aired. I don't have Sky but want to arrange with friend to record it on my behalf. Looking forward to it.
