Well they can be amatuers if they do not earn living from horses and only produce there own - just because they are good at what they do does not mean they are "professionals" in the true sense of the word does it - only I disagreeumption here I don't know there personal circumstances

They need to spend less time interviewing people and more time showing the classes - I like the odd interview with the judge and a competitor, but they seem to spend more time talking and we see very little of the actual horses Perhaps they could have people talking while the horses are being shown? Rather than that flappy hair woman asking insane questions about the wind!! That aside, any showing on TV at all is fantastic and I just hope this channel continues, as our whole family sits round the TV to glimpse the showing, and it's brilliant to finally see it on TV! IMO Horse and Country TV will get a very select bunch of viewers - very few 'non horsey' people will tune it, just people who have an interest in farming and equestrianism. There is, therefore, little need to show us the amusements etc when most of us would be happy to watch the horses for an hour. It's nice to see some entertainment, but I do hope they carry on showing the best of the show classes.

It's great to have showing on the TV - who would have thought it, a few years ago?!!! I agree with the previous post that there is too much talking and not enough showing. Yes, it's good to have interviews with riders and producers, but lets have a COMPLETE piece of action, perhaps with a running commentary, showing from beginning to end of an individual show and explaining what exactly is going on. It's so frustrating when it flips from one item to another with no proper conclusion. I was amazed at the Royal on Monday that the 'cameramen' were young girls - I don't think they really knew what they were supposed to be doing. There are sure to be teething problems which I hope they will soon be able to iron out. They have good financial backing from Parelli so we will probably be inundated with adverts and demonstrations of 'Natural Horsemanship' whenever there is a lull between events!!!

Getting a bit addicted, find some bits funny, some bits a bit yawni, but on the whole its fab. Teen daughter spoiled it a bit by saying OH MY GOD LOOK AT HER RIDING, OH MY GOD LOOK AT HOW FAT THAT HORSE IS, OH MY GOD..........and so on.......Bratt Had a giggle at the Zara one, which I thoroughly enjoyed. My lorry dog watched all the sheepdog bit, yes she did.. Only person really sad is hubby, he had to do his own ironing as whilst watching the keens I ironed over my hand and had to sit with it in ice. He says its so boring and makes fun all the time ....huh how have I just felt watching all those fishing programmes for the past umpteen years. Only negative I can see is that one will have to be careful when doing a sickie, youre not later on tv, cos bet youre boss is watching

Saying that though,I've just watched a rather interesting programme on there about steam trains whilst waiting for the Royal report!

I am enjoying the channel but it would be useful to know when programmes are on they are not in the sky mag. Also it would be good to know what shows and events are going to be covered in the future!!! Who funds the channel I assume it is the advertizers.
