Hi all, just looking for some reassurance my 17hh tb went on lvwtb on Sat, feeling so so sad about it, I fell unexpectently pregnant which is fab news but had to make the tough decision to loan with view to buy my tb, i have only had him a year and feel so bad about having to move him on, I have check the new home, have contracts in place and will check and he's okay before I agree to sell him, but so worried he's gonna end up in the wrong hands or be mistreated. I know I am thinking of the worst. Any words of courage??

Just remember that you are doing this for his benefit - when the baby comes along he/she will be your priority so it's only fair that your horse goes somewhere that can give him the attention he deserves. At least if you keep making regular checks on the home you can bring him home if the worst comes to the worst.

This is the best decision for you, your baby and your horse. I have had a very similar experience and fell pregnant and having to give up my horse of a life time. I now 3 years on got back in the ring last year and have a new horse I am riding and training just up the road from my house and now enjoy a whole new aspect of having a horse. Sharing family time doing a hobby and watching my little boy sit on my new onces back is just amazing.
I was always showing up and down the country weekend after weekend and never thought showing at local level would ever keep me happy..but t is a refreshing change. (for a year or so anyway lol ;-) ) I think I gave up properly for two years although I did do some freelance teaching so kept my hand in that way. Keep on riding after baby is born.. even if its just a happy hack once a month or a hang out for a few hours on a stable floor whilst your friends muck out.
Just think of your baby and trust me as soon as little one comes along the time will fly and then you ail be stressed about having to buy a lead rein pony and outfit instead
All the best for you and your little one xxlaura
