Maxine Bevan-Jones i find to be very fair. Likes a good show and well mannered ponies will be rewarded, knows her breeds too. I will certainly go under her again. M ball i do not know...

The way they went at cheshire meant nothing. If you have not been under them before give it a try you never know your luck.

Could i just say before this thread gets nasty a lot of judges do read horse gossip, it does make one wonder why do we travel miles, stand in the pouring rain........to then see people bad mouthing us for it.

It does make me wonder why i spend time correctly schooling my pony, speand hours the day before preparing. Then travel for hours, ride in the pooring rain in expensive tack, only to watch a face win. Add to this judges now reading these web sites, reading about ponies, where they have been, what they have done, so they can now pre judge. SO MAYBE JUDGES reading these sites could stop putting their mates through to hoys etc on animals poorly schooled. I feel some shows are becoming boaring, with the same old drab faces on drab, obease animals. Please start putting the new blood through on the real quailty. I know there are some nice old ponys out there, but there is a pattern to certain faces getting multiple tickets on what ever they take into the ring eg take your pony out twice and get hoys and olyimpia ticket, impressive or

I did not go to Cheshire so cant comment but I would like to say………. There are plenty judges that are spoken very highly of on here as well some I have not been under but will look out for after reading some good remarks. If judges cant judge what is in front of them on the day in a fair manner then they should be prepared to accept the consequences.
Don’t forget we also travel lots of miles and pay lots of money to stand in the rain for a fair look at.

All we would like is tobe placed, we know we wont get to HOY'S but we love doing the classes, if we feel we have had a good /fair/fun day out thats great. The faces will always do well they need to( its like keeping your share holders happy) they have a lot of owners to please. It beats going shopping if judges don't like our ponies then thats fine. i am not keen on some of the ponies that win and some i love. What i really would like is no more rain please

I have to say that the ponies that have qualifified are good ones also so mabey judges have started to listen............

i do think judges on the whole are good and they are getting better if you didn't believe this then you would have to give up.

Can I ask that you take your debate about judges to another thread and keep this one for the show it is intended for please? Thanks.

Sounds like the "sour grapes" monster has been out in force again!! I too would happily go under Mrs Bevan Jones again, and NO im not a face but have found her to be a very fair judge on the several times i have been judged by her. If you dont like her...then dont go..SIMPLE....more chance for me!!!!!!

There is a judge’s thread in place for people to ask about judges they have not been under before. Please use that if you have to ask for peoples past experience of judges you may be going under.
I will now lock this thread.
By all means start another thread on Monmouth but let the judges judge the classes before making any comments please.
