congratulations team avery qualifying 2 from your yard today. on a more serious note I did feel sorry for the one that came 2nd in the non native ponies travelled from Ayr, it did a far superior performance as did the one from herts that came 3rd. This post has been modified by Admin.

Perhaps a few letters to CHAPS then - the faciness and favours that are rife in so many of the qualifiers (and especially the cobs and coloureds this year) WON'T stop until people start complaining.
Perhaps new rules to say if you qualify under a judge that season then they can't go under you for the rest of the season - would stop this blatent cheating.
At the end of the day its YOU the general public who pays to enter (and therefore run) these shows. If only the obvious top six (i.e. the pros) enter then they won't be able to afford to run them. Societies need to wake up and see which side the bread is buttered. If you force the amateurs out then they won't be able to afford to run them.

Dont know if anyone else watched the HOYS 143 SHP qualifier yesterday, just wondered what anyone thought of the judging. I was amazed to see a pony qualify for HOYS on a wrong leg, yes, it was corrected almost straight away but plenty more did better shows without a wrong leg, then another pony was moved up and placed with a splint that I could see from the ringside!! What examples of ponies these are to be at the top of the line!!

Pointless complaining - one of the judges is chair of Chaps also robin is on council so somehow dont think the complaint would get very far.
it is a good idea though to bring in the rule that if a judge qualifies you for such a prestigious final such as HOYS then you shouldnt go under them later in the year.

The Large Intermediate show riding winner on saturday, what was that all about, something going on there, it wrong legged it, chucked its head and won, what happening to the showing world. Can anyone shine any light on this for me. thanks..

i watched the small native/ trads today ...and i have to say i think pulling initially in any order is ruining the art of showing .....some ponies today really shone in the go round and werent placed ...some that were placed were nice ponies that went very correctly but to me some had no 'sparkle / look at me ' at all ( not rock tj ..thought he was fit to win ) i think presence is very important in a showing class and judging this way is losing the need for that 'Wow ' factor we all look for !!

the winner of the Leaventhorpe supreme was Roseberry Highland Fling. It was a really strong class of lovely ponies

In reply to cath, how dare you say the winner of the large show riding type chucked his head and wrong legged it on Saturday that was my horse The Tempest II he went foot perfect (video to prove it) people like you make my blood boil what right have you to come on a forum and tell bare faced lies about someones horse the FACTS are we were pulled in second and moved up to win because the horse originally pulled top wrong legged it, and was DROPPED out of the placings, the horse that ended up second qualified as we had already qualified by winning at Cheshire County and finally we are a home produced family who work very hard to produce our horse to a high standard and when our horse wins we want to feel happy and proud it is such a hard class to compete in. You seriously need to get your facts right before you make such nasty comments Anyone who watched that class can verify what i am saying to be true, i did not watch the show of the horse that qualified so i can not comment on that

Well Done SH for sticking up for yourself & your pony. Also well done for winning. Don't know you or your pony but can't stand it when people come on here & bit*h about ponies performances. Sounds like jealousy to me!!
