I agree with McG - Whilst there giving you jip someone else is getting a rest !!!! I don't see what all the fuss is about as there where ponies there that have been to Olympia, HOYS and RIHS. it keeps the standard up and can also give people a buzz if they beat these ponies based on their performance on the day. Let's all give it a rest and move on !!!

I don't compete at this level myself, but I can only think that it must be a real buzz to compete against top quality horses/ponies, especially if you do well. Also if you don't do so well its an opportunity to watch and learn!

Well our pony was there and has been lucky enough to gain an rihs ticket this year, we went for the FUN non qualifyin classes Re Adut and child and style and performance........... we won adult and child and were second an style and performance.
We had a really really fun time, with our home produced pony who has competed at this show for the last three years!

But if I wanted to compete against top level horses and watch and learn - I'd do county level I compete at top level and have been to HOYs etc..as have alot of my friends and most of us try and go to Uk Showing because... a) its local and friendly b) one of the only opportunities you are ever going to ride with a top hat in an evening performance on a connemara ! c) Good experience for other eve performances in the future There are usually a good standard of ponies there and alot of county ones ...i judged there last year and was very pleased with the standard forward

Well, I have to say that I don't mind "quality" at any of the Championship Shows. Be it HOYS or otherwise. Our RC do not discourage anybody from competing, everybody is treated the same. I for one missed out this year, for health reasons (me not the horse) I love going to the champs, it's a great atmosphere and we always have a goodtime. Well done to everybody who competed and though's that got placed. I know how hotly contested the placings are. We are very lucky up north that we have these sort of shows. They might not be HOYS / RIHS / Olympia etc.. but are just as much fun

What are your reasons for not going again, i think it is a fab show and it gives those people and pony/horse a chance to see what happens if you decide to go one further i.e. county level . A large big congratulations to all those committee members and stewards not forgetting judges to give us folks from the North West and surrounding areas a chance to participate in the equivalent of Hoys for pony club members. This is one of the biggest events in some childs calendar and I for one look forward to it every year. What more could you want than seeing some child think they have won the lottery with their prized possession THEIR PONY and a red rossette/sash to reward them of all their efforts. Thank god for pony club and club championships without Long may they stay

This post has been modified by Adminhell think that is a bit harsh on okcaj

Post by pro on Jul 21, 2007 7:29:39 GMT
montezuma - that is very harsh and I believe wrong in that okcaj does produce her horse from home as she has said in her posts however as she had to use her instructor in that one show then she will no longer be eligible to do Amateur and home produced classes this season as per BSHA rules. Just because her instructor rode her horse at a show once it does not mean that she no longer produces her horse from home.
well done okcaj with your successes and a touch a sour grapes from someone probably!

why is everyone so bothered about someone havin someone else ride there horse at one show then goin to premier why not she qualified an thers no rule sayin she cant go so why not go!Dont see why certain people are so bothered about certain horses going when theyve qualified for hoys they was definately not the only horse there that has been to or qualified for hoys!people need to get a grip and grow up!!

Why are you having a go at the winner of this class? She seems to have abided by the rules that were set down by the show, she was enligable to enter and she did well. If you want the classes to only be open to home produced horses, it's the show you should be talking/writing to to get the rules changed.

Listen i am to the back teeth with all this bit*hin and back stabbing.
1/ I have not broken any rules by riding at uk showing having qualified for HOYS or the RIHS
2/ As already said i had checked the rules with the british show horse before Sarah actually rode him
3/ Why do other people seem to know my business more than myself
I ask everyone PLEASE move on from this now. You are not just passing comment but you are being very spiteful and hurtful.
I KNOW the truth and the rules and i have not broken any.
Now get a grip and sort your own horses out instead of worrying about mine cause thats my job and no one elses so BUTT out !!!
If you had genuine comments then why is it you all hide behind stupid guest names.

I am now utterly pi**ed of with your stupid comments.
I have broken no rules so PLEASE p*ss off get a grip sort your own life out and maybe you will have lots of success and wont need to be jealous of anyone elses.
I wish you all the best and hope one day after you have worked so hard that someone tries to take all the credit away from you like you have with me cause i can assure you it hurts like hell !!!!
I have done nothing to deserve the crap i am getting on here. I did phone the organisers up to check that i hadnt and they assured me there is no rules to say i cant compete there along with the other 25% of people that also qualified HOYS and RIHS!!!
GET A LIFE !!!! Worry about your own !!!!!!

If the pony is better, it wins! Simple as. If it had been the other way round ,and it wasn't placed, you still would be bit*hing.
