Right firstly does anyone know what is the age for UK showing adult and child? Also what should the show be like should the child always be on the inside? or just whoever is where throughout the show? Should we mirror or just go side by side throughout. Sorry to be a miver all this showing is new to me, as I'm a jumper normally. Do we need to wear sash's? or ribbon round our hats, and is it navy only for evening performance, providing we get through. Am i right to presume that we don't wear top hats as the child I'm doing it with is only 8 years old. Thanks for any help in advance it is greatly appreciated.

I think the age is 18, but don't quote me on that. Smaller pony should be on the inside on the right rein & on the outside on the left rein. You can mirror or stay together, or do a mix of both! Entirely your choice. You can wear sashes, hat ribbons etc if you want, again, entirely your choice! Evening or daytime wear for the evening, adult can wear a top hat if they wish & if the child's parent/guardian signs a disclaimer, they can wear a top hat too. (But you will have to check on that, not sure if this is still the case.)

I did it on Bran (11.1) with a 17hand (ish) horse, I stayed on the inside on the right rein & on the outside on the left rein. It didn't look silly, it looked fab! We won every time out. If you swap in the middle it can easily go wrong & look rushed, lots of communication is needed when the little one is on the outside as they will find it more difficult to keep up. Oh & make sure you start & finish with the little one on the inside. To be honest, keep the show as simple as possible, the more you do the more chance you have at making a mistake, just a simple trot, change the rein, canter on each rein & extend. If you're feeling confident you could add in a trot serpentine but I wouldn't go any further than that.

Cerys did adult & child on Bella last year with Teabag (username on here) and her lovely big cob. Cerys stayed on the inside - they practised their changeover so it went smoothly, with Teabag performing some lovely lateral movements to pass Cerys & Bella ;D
Definitely echo Hannah's comments about keeping it simple. I think it's more effective if you stay together too - if you split and mirror each other, you risk going out of synch and looking messy.
Good luck! We love doing pairs, but yet again can't do UK Showing this time as Cerys has another commitment - she's performing at Warrington Dance Festival on the Saturday, which is going to take a good chunk of the day.

Thankyou guys! That's brilliant advice think we will try both and see how each works out. At the moment the little girl does well on the inside, but may chance it yet. Thanks again. Xx
Good luck to cerys nici!! Xx
