and what about all the people who are going to RIHS|on tuesday for the coloureds or to new forest or have booked annual leave/dog sitters/horse sitters an childcare etc etc. They're not exactly giving people very much notice are they and to bring it forward is really out of order in a week with two other major shows on.
I do realise the ground and weather etc etc play a part and lots of shows have been cancelled/postponed/ moved etc but all have been PUT back allowing people time to make other arrangements
It won't affect the pros who have more than one lorry and have grooms etc to help them out but for those who work etc and are a one man band its not exactly helpful. But then maybe that's the whole point?

Theres no choice with shows on every weekend people are lucky it is being held somewhere else. Many shows have just had to cancel. Just because you may be one of the people who cannot make it they cannot put it on a day to suit you. Comittee members work bloody hard to re arrange dates for shows so if you think you can do a better job get in touch with someone. In future maybe you should think about being a little bit more grateful that the show is on at all and not being so selfish.

I just want to add that if so many shows are being put BACK then they are probably struggling to find a date.

I did say I understood why it was cancelled and since I am on two show comittees - one of which had a cancelled show this year I obviously DO understand the work involved and am fully aware of the efforts involved. I offered alternative land for one show to try to prevent that cancellation but logistics made it impossible. I also spent a whole night on the telephone trying to reorganise and notifying competitors.
However my point was the lack of warning - I have had no official confirmation of this from organisers and a letter through the post tomorrow or thursday does not give much time to reorganise does it?
It costs some of us a great deal of money and organising to be able go to the bigger shows and to bring it forward on a week with the royal international means many people, not just myself, will be unable to attend. Apparently there will be no refunds which I feel is unfair also although since I've had no official contact me this may be hearsay too.

well all im going to say is that if you are on two comittes and i dont know if they are big or small comittees but i do know that you should not be complaining about anything.

No choice you obviously don't have a coloured entered for RIHS and a HOYS qualifier now both on the same day then do you? Only a slightly difficult decision to make - and my point about no confirmation from anyone official still stands as does bringing the show forwards. I won't be the only one affected I'm sure and a lot of people won't even be aware yet as hasn't been made official.
