Very glad to find out that all registered ponies are allowed to compete whatever their height. Well done to the NPS for allowing us to take part in this competition. Big ponies need something to do.

I understand that around 160 ponies have qualified so far - and there are still more qualifiers going on. Really looking forward to the final

I hope this year they actually put the results up as the class goes along rather than all that hanging around at the end of the day and then still not knowing where you came if you weren't in the top 10.
I know it was supposed to create atmosphere in the prize giving but it just made it a very long day when you had a long way to travel home and discovered you weren't placed.

That's why we loved it. We were placed in one and not the other and we had a very long journey home. No-one had a clue who had won and that's how the NPS aught keep it. the atmosphere was great and it was good for the ponies to experience going in and standing together to get their Finalist rosettes and breed prizes. As we show all summer we liked the fact that the results weren't known by anyone beforehand. Thank you to those who organise this as it must be very hard work.

I agree with Novice - it's actually nice not to know the results till the very end. Made it feel so much more special. Although now that people know the format I think they will be more prepared. I was also placed in one and not the other. I know it was a long day, however, I stayed right until the end to watch the ride offs and thought it was a lovely event. I am sure the organisers have learnt lots from last year and is sure to be even slicker this time

But if you weren't placed didn't you want to know where you came - were you just out of the placings or were you last? I know I did!

I have asked about this and they said the results of the placed ponies will be published on the NPS dressage page this year. They will not publish all the marks as they want to encourage people to improve. Glad the NPS has come up with something those of us who might never go to hoys or Olympia can qualify for on merit. The TopSpec is a good idea.

But if you weren't placed didn't you want to know where you came - were you just out of the placings or were you last? I know I did! I did know where I came in both as I looked at the result sheets that were posted at the secretary's office at the end of the day

Why wouldn't the NPS allow the dessage rules to be included in the new NPS Rule Book? I asked about this and was told that although they had been sent in last summer the Council and Competitions Committee stopped them from being included in the 2009 Rule Book. They are on the website but it would be good to everything together. Does this mean the NPS is turning into a purely showing society and doesn't care about the rest of us? Can someone from the dressage group answer this please?
