Just wondering what the weather was doing across the country and if the horror downpours have hit.
I am in Yorkshire and it is cold, cloudy and blustery.
Anyone down south - particularly near Hickstead???

Posted a comment on NPS Champs thread at 9am about weather in Wiltshire......it is now 11.20 am and the rain continues to absolutely throw it down. According to BBC weather, this stretches across country from Midlands as far west as Som and Dorest, so Sussex may be basking in beautiful sunshine..LOL.. Even more good new from the BBC, not much good weather in sight!!

I am about 10 miles from Hickstead and it has just stopped bucketing it down! It was so dark coming into work this morning it seemed more loke 9pm and not 9am! Hopefully it will be nicer tomorrow as we are off to Lingfield Races for a hen day/night! Anyone got a weather report from the New Forest area?

I'm about 20 minutes drive away from the NF show site & at the moment the SUN IS SHINING!!!! Think the really heavy rain is missing us & is a bit further north. Hopefully these wet conditions won't have aken the NF show organisers by suprise & they have taken precautions re. getting people in etc.

I am in Beds and we are flooding. The field at the back is a lake and in 20 years I have never even seen a puddle in there.

Nli you do travel about somewhat don't you first your in Wales then your in Cheshire..
Marymarynli .. are you the same person as above ??..the nli bit..or am l missing something lol !!! what part of North Shropshire..as it was absolutely fine in Oswestry area up until a couple of hours ago and hasn't stopped raining since..However it is "normal but fairly heavy rain" rather than the dreaded deluge they all predicted. Must say we have been very lucky here through the dreadful times that l know alot of people have experienced. Even the paddocks are barely churned.
As for last nights thunderstorms, the worse l have heard in 40+++yrs. Even got worried as three of the ponies were out whilst the others were in.. I couldn't stand it after a couple of hours had past..was constantly worried about the ponies being out, especially with the horrendous lightening observed..so went out as l was unable to sleep to check on them and yes you have guessed it, they were standing very happily in the middle of the paddock munching away at the grass.

Floods in all field, outdoor school, garden, have to swim if I want to get to the road, the drive is flooded, but I'm not going anywhere. Turned 3 ponies out at 8am all rugged got 4 in 12.30pm all soaked and cold, had to leave 2 out as no more stables. NPS12 my area has been postponed this is defineate I had phone call this morning. Forecast ..... will continue for up to 12hrs in this area!!!!
