I would be surprised if it lasts the full duration, there will be some serious damage done to vehicles alone if they cram them in like other years. Could you imagine a landslide of lorry's on that hill.? I think we will stay at home.

We had to drive from Mid Wales back to Shropshire last night ....we only got home as were in the lorry ....there were people stuck in cars at the side of the road virtually the whole way from Newtown to Welshpool this road is one of the main routes to Builth ...they have more rain forecast for the area so for anyone going down allow plenty of time for your journey ...in 17yrs have never seen that road so badly affected

How do we know this isnt just a rumour? Could health and safety officers call for the show to be cancelled do you think. I know the royal welsh has run before very wet but this has been an extremely bad year im not sure the rain will let up to let the ground dry up a bit!!

please post the link to this 'other site' I can't find it and if everyone carries on just reapeating hearsay its just perpertuating a rumour. I cannot see how RWAS will cancel the show once it has commenced and all the competitors have arrived, remember there are people from all over the uk and abroad travelling there - maybe they will close to the public like RASE as the H & S risks are higher with public suing. The hill is on rock so I would think it is not so bad. I'm not sure the horse ring down in the 'bowl' will be so nice admittedly.

The horseboxws parked on " The Hill" wont be a problem as it is all on hard standing. Admittedly the rings may be very wet, and possibly some of the outside stabling as opposed to the big barn stables. Our groom got there at 8 am with her caravan and said it was pouring with rain and mud everywhere, so if you go - go prepared !

Just heard from friends who have arrived at Builth and pitched their caravan only to have to have their 4x4 towed out after parking the caravan. Absolutely horrendous up there, Could resemble Glastonbury by the end of the four days!!!

lincolnstables , don't worry she WILL GO FOR IT !!!! she was bouncing around for 2 days before she set off this morning . I don't know where she had room for the ponies as she had packed everything apart from hubby!!!!! who is left at home on his tod with the parrot and dogs . And EVERYONE and I mean Everyone will know if she gets a rossette because she will be smiling like the proverbial cheshire cat waving the ruddy thing for all to see ( Bless Her )in the ring .( we don't let her out very often !!!!!!)
