seems step, however when I competed has a child... too many moons ago! the St John's Ambulance used to turn up free and everyone made a donation. The last time I was involved in running a show a first aider was £300 and an ambulance was £750, this is health and safety gone mad and that show I was helping with has now ceased to be run. If I was now going to run a show I would make it clear to the competitors the cost of first aid and insurance so that you know where some of your entry fees go.

Depends is it for a show for like 3 days or is it for one day? Seems a bit high if its for a day show.

As a show organiser I know only too well the cost of paramedics.
Also this fee is for emergency cover, not just first aid, & covers 4 days, so actually £2.50 per day.

Seems a bit unfair to have to still pay £10 when only competing in 1 class on 1 day and not staying over!

As a parent who has had to have a child airlifted from a show - no I do not think £10 is too steep!! You always think - it will never happen to me - but boy it can. We were lucky, she was back in the ring the next day, but I have never ever begrudged paying a first aid charge since!

I dont begrudge paying first aid but having to pay 20 pounds for my daughter to ride 2 ponies on one day in classes straight after each other i think is too steep!

Hello livtom I assume you are the person who has just emailed me. If you would be so kind as to give me your entry details as I asked for on my last email then I can look into the matter properly for you and see why you have been charged twice but until I can locate the entry and who the pony belongs too etc then I cannot check why you were charged twice. I look forward to receiving the details so that I can resolve the matter for you. Many thanks Sarah Chapman
Edit - modified to take out name at request
