This is what it says on the Hickstead web site
Please click on the links below to view regional and local weather forecasts...and remember, even if the British summer is up to its usual tricks, we have never cancelled a show in 47 years, and all of our enclosures are welly friendly!!

I've just heard that the classes tomorrow are being held on the all weather arena, with no riding on the grass! All working in is to be on the arena too. Has anyone else heard this?

they can not just have working in on the all wether if you have a sharp pony or one that needs work they will have to find somewhere else we can work!!
It will be rediculous and stupid
What do you lot think?
Well i personally think you can't have your cake and eat it! i'm sure you'd all be whining alot more if your pony slipped on wet grass and hurt themselves or if the rings were so churned up it was inpossible to ride on. Whateverthey do i am sure they will not be able to win.

It will be rediculous and stupid What do you lot think? I think that you should get up earlier and work the horses and ponies in before you leave. It is neither ridiculous nor stupid. There is still the working area available by the main jumping ring. Everyone will be under the same conditions, so you will just have to do what the rest of us are doing, and getting on with it. Interestingly, the winners of the MW and HW coloured classes today are both babies and coped just fine. Or perhaps you would prefer the show to be cancelled. I am not riding until Sunday, so the ground will be mashed to pieces by then, but I am STILL looking forward to it.

Can't see that they will manage to get 3 or 4 showing rings fitting into the warm up area! I would have thought that they put the coloureds in the warm up today to save the rings - and will probably put some classes in there during the week, but if they put all of them in, we would be there until HOYS!

My original post was last night for today. I have no idea about the plans for the rest of the week.
