We're going!!! Taking three ponies who are now used to mud & flood water as we are near Stratford. Also went to NF & although I found the towing nerve wracking, as never done it before, I am really unpeturbed by it all now. Going with big smiles & lots of water proofs I feel for the NPS who seem to be getting very little support from its members, I really doubt that they would run it if they shouldn't. Just for the record, global gathering is going ahead this weekend just outside of stratford with an estimated 75,000 people going. Stratford was partially flooded yesterday as I had to drive through it!! If health & safety can let that go ahead and the national press hasn't kicked off about the morals involved then maybe all the fuss on the other thread is just people being miserable monkeys

At last some common sense! Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, they should remember that the NPS had a very difficult decision to make with lots of factors to consider. I think some of comments on this forum about the council and their decision are OTT and not always factually correct. Don't believe everything you read in the papers.
The NPS said they were consulting the relevant authorities, which I assume would include the police and borough council. Whatever decision they made, to cancel, postpone or move, there would have been loads of moaning. Have some respect for these people, they're doing their best for the society (and no, I am not in any way connected I just feel for any of the Council reading some of the comments on here).
Everyone will be shocked by the pictures shown on television, but life does go on, and not having a show won't change what's happened. Disasters of varying levels happen all the time its just a coincidence this one is near Malvern, before the show and very much in the media. Its not long since Yorkshire suffered severe flooding but the Great Yorkshire Show went ahead without comments on here.
In the winter NH race meetings go ahead on soft and heavy ground, and I reckon the TB horses are a lot more prone to injury than any pony.
I hope everyone who is supporting the NPS and going to the show has loads of fun and some success too.

I realise that many people have concerns regards the show next week at Malvern. Being a discussion forum one would expect people to debate the whys and wherefores of attending or not given the present situation in that area and surrounding areas. There are reasons for attending and reasons for not attending.
Every one must make their own minds up on what is best for them and their ponies. This decision should be based upon the information given by the bodies of people connected with the show and the show facilities. I’m sure if the situation should change the NPS will inform its members ASAP.
My reason for making these comments is that some posts in the threads regards NPS champs could be construed as scare mongering.
Please keep your eye on the NPS web site for further updates.
