Always thought that Stonleigh is one of the best showgrounds, just a shame I didn't get to compete this year!

WOW what a great show, great venue, well organised , great atmosphere, Well done puk , fell it could be the big come back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the down side, there is no lighting in the stable areas and you cant get a f*g paper between the trucks cause they have crammed them all in together but half the park is empty

Still don't think looking at some of the HOYS entries, for example the C'S puk will make a comeback, equifest is definitely taking over, a much better show! PUK is still over priced IMO!

Lovely little jolly done to Ponies UK... all very friendly and helpful, nice peaceful atmosphere. Catering was brilliant, good range of and nice sized rings (worker ring is a prime example). Particularly impressed with the stewards; a male steward in the Gold Ring, who took the time to stroke and calm my horse when the presentation of the rosettes proved too much. It gave my young horse some much needed confidence and calmed him down. I really appreciated the experience and confidence he clearly had with the horse. Overall, despite the high pricing of the HOYS qualifiers,(with which I feel more responsibility lies with Grandstand and the imposing levy, rather than the societies hosting the qualifiers...) I really enjoyed myself.

Just looked at their entry fees - would have considered going as it's only an hour from us but I'm not paying £40 per class, it was the same price at NPS this year so we only did classes in the Junior Ring as much cheaper!

If they brought their prices down a bit in line with Equifest i'm sure they would get numbers up again like it used to be, with diesel costs being at a all time high it is far too expensive and i think that's why equifest has been so popular better value for money and you dont have high membership fees on top as well.

For a show to have low entry fees it has to have low overheads and this applies to societies as well. You have to look at the business model and get the 12 month costs down then you can pass the savings on to exhibitors in low entry fees and memberships.

Equifest do not have the overheads that the other societies have. They are run for the East of England showground so don't pay hire fee for venue,or as much, as the other societies have too which of course then reflects in the costs for the competitors.

I am on the Council of The Poultry Club and our annual National show is held at Stoneleigh. I have always found the site to be well run and well staffed, there is plenty of room and its an ideal purpose built location. I have never attended a summer champs before so have no comparison to make but I have thoroughly enjoyed the last few days at PUK. Alongside the site staff the PUK organisers have been very helpful, informative and cheerful.
Will be back next year as a visitor and hopefully in the future as a competitor

I don't think there is any reason for this to be in the guest area so I'm moving it to PUK Chat. If people want to comment on the venue, then they can join the site to do so legitimately.

Much better at Stoneleigh than Newark (further for us to travel). Surface great, evening performance super. Office staff lovely. Catering was superb, put Hickstead to shame. Loads of parking near to rings. Nice atmosphere. £25 per class for members is cheaper than BSPS and sashes/rosettes were beautiful. Such a shame trophies can't be taken home though. 10/10

Brill show, in comparison to NPS's stupidly high entry and late entry fee's. Would love to see Puk make a big, successful comeback. They have moved with the times and developed to try and accommodate for a wider range of people.

Well done Ponies UK. Late entries boosting the class numbers. Well organised, super showground, great catering and as someone mentioned above, the stewards were amazing. Competed in bronze and purple rings and such friendly and helpful stewards. Had a great time. Shame to come back to work today!!!

Overall, despite the high pricing of the HOYS qualifiers,(with which I feel more responsibility lies with Grandstand and the imposing levy, rather than the societies hosting the qualifiers...) I really enjoyed myself. The actual entry fee is nothing to do with Grandstand. TSR and Ryedale show are two great examples of shows with very low entry fees in HOYS classes.

We thought the new venue was great. All in all it was a lovely show. IF you entered in advance at members rates the classes were reasonably priced. If you parked in the camping area you had masses of space - whilst still not being far from the rings/stables. All the stewards/staff were very helpful and friendly for example the stable managers who arranged it so that we had stables near to the camping area. Well done PUK.

This is the last year apparently they will be subsidesed by east of england and therecould be a price hike and venue change for next year(stonleigh being one of them) Stonleighs a great venue with it surfaced arenas have fun memories of the bsps champs there and the train they used to have which was great entertainment but, puk still seemed abit dead when I popped up to get a saddle
