according to facebook it seems that half the horsey population of the uk are at equifest this week yet theres hardly any activity on this thread is everyone too busy running from one ring to another lol Pictures of Trashed tents and (human) poo at the taps are not making it an appealing option!!

Just come home from 3 days at Equifest and must say what a brilliant few days this has been.
Don't let the minority spoil such a wonderful event for horse families to partake in.
Name and shame the people involved in this ludicrous behaviour surely they wouldn't be allowed to behave in this way on there own yards!
Betsy and team do an absolutely brilliant job organising this event and surely we don't want to lose it because of a handful of people behaving like thugs!!
I have never seen so many horse and families together at one place and the atmosphere is very special down there.
Privileged to have been part of it.

Well done overatdaknee and good luck tonight! Also HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Lauren Kingston, Tamsin and Tamlin going Equifest M&M Champion last night. Shilstone Rocks North Westerly (Windy) was 2nd Amateur small breeds; 3rd Open and saved the best to last winning the 4,5,6 year old class and going Champion then galloping his socks off (think he was so scared being the only little one in the pre judging with all the big horses!) to clinch the Supreme for his overjoyed owner Lynda Calcut We will be on our way back up soon for the Supreme having had to bring the other boys home as we expected to be finished Friday - did not anticipate this sort of win! See you later guys and Good Luck to all tonight.

Home after 4 great days at Equifest. Super friendly show, excellent evening performances, great shopping and fabulous venue and some of the best worker courses we have jumped for a long time (paticularly RPR ring). Only downside for me (not equifests fault) was the length of time that the worker classes took. In 3 of our classes we had 39, 41 and 48 competitors! Some classes took over 2 hours and we had to choose which classes to do as what looked fine on paper clashed! Two poor judges Mrs Higson and Mrs Scott started judging at 8.30am in one ring on wednesday and with only a short lunch break finally finished judging the novice M&M whps (large had 48 in) at 7.30pm!! Would be great if there could be some stables nearer the 3 worker rings as I spent so much time walking back and forward to see how classes were doing. Classes did run late because of the number of competitors but this just shows what a very popular show it was. Standard of ponies was excellent.
Very big well done to Equifest and the team

Enjoyed the show as usual. Great WHP courses , inviting and enjoyable so a bonus for young, novice and new partnerships. Nice friendly staff, with lovely gate and security guys. BIG GRIPE: red area B, what a joke, when you are pushing a pram and have 2 x children in cradle and nursery classes, spent hours walking and checking how long classes would take. ( the lady ring steward was fab tho) Wont bother joining again if this is not changed.

Well done to Darcy Sanders and your lovely pony beautifully ridden for going Supreme and the lovely reserve another beautiful young horse. Slightly dissapointed in the Supreme judging in that it all seemed a bit of a non-event. Ponies were not even asked to gallop or perform individual shows. The plaited ponies had been pre-judged by the same judge for the Supreme as had some of the others as he had judged another championship but he had not seen all of those forward so felt they should all have been looked at, he didn't even go down the line to look at them! I guess they were in a hurry as the SJ needed to start but for a Supreme of Show in the past it has always been more of an event with individual shows etc. Not complaining about the result - just the format. Overall a great few days as usual absolutely exhausted thank you and well done to Betsy and team for your incredible organisational skills.

Menai Celtic Warrior was a fab little pony, pulled off a fab show in both classes I saw him in, and for a change rider fitted him perfectly! Lovely pair who thoroughly deserved their results!
Had a lovely few days at equifest, well organised and a lovely atmosphere. A couple of hiccups which equifest could easily address for next year. Eg shower/toilet hygiene.
One thing that did surprise me was the amount of small breed M&Ms with adults on, that were far too big and trying to pass themselves off as children.
On a brighter note, was lovely to see a class of 48 genuine novices in the workers on Wednesday. So often novices are jumped by open ponies as a 'warm up', but this large breed class was full of genuine novices, asked to jump a tricky course! The courses were lovely and loads of space. Loved the experience!!
