Lot 51 was an 18 year old section b mare with foal at foot so the catalogue says believed in foal again. Rediculous if it was 20gns! More like 200

Whilst I agree that a lot of people send their ponies to sales just to get rid of them quickly its not always the case and sometimes people have no choice no matter how heartbreaking it is. I have recently been dealt a blow which means I literally cannot afford to keep my ponies and live. My two lovely broodmares are up for loan but I have only had one total timewaster who let me down at the last minute interested in them because I want them to be re-homed together. I dont know how I am going to keep them over the winter and I have seriously thought about having them PTS so that I know where they are. It is a heartbreaking decision as I have had them both since babies - one is now 18 and the other 12.
What I am trying to get across is whilst I agree some people just sell without thinking I dont think a blanket expression about how people can sleep at night is not always fair unless you know the circumstances.
I hope and pray all the ponies who went for virtually nothing have gone to good homes and I am afraid that is all you can wish for when selling any pony at any cost.
Sorry, I will get off my soapbox now lol.

Sorry, I will get off my soapbox now lol. I think it is more shocking when an 18yr old pony with foal at foot AND in foal again for next year goes threw a sale when pretty much the whole horse world knows the horrendous situation we are in with over breeding and to a many horses and ponies with not enough people or money to look after them. My lad is 24 but for as long as I can remember my mum has always said if anything happened to us he would be pts as in the wrong hands he'd just get passed around so tbh that is sometimes what is best for the older ponies sad as it may seem :-(
