They were all lined up sitting on a wire in the yard so first thing I did was to go and move the rugs inside the barn where they like to make their nests. Great to see them back but they do make a mess. They nest in the stables and by the time the little ones fly the nest the rugs on the ponies backs are ready to go for a wash!

well, usually back here in Staffordshire before my birthday - 28th April - but none yet. It's a special moment for me to see them back - so lovely to know that others treasure it too.

First pair arrived back on sunday in North Yorks with me. I keep a note of when they arrive and bizarrely its always the second sunday of April every year! Its our Welsh Show same day every year and they are usually here when I get up or when I get back, clever little birds.

Ours arrived on Thursday the sight of them always makes me happy. Not as many as usual though!!!
