Hi, I have offered to be the leader for a little girls first show, and i am no expert on lead rein as never done it. Could I have some help with what show to do for a lead rein class and whether when changing rein i have to switch sides to stay on the outside?
Sorry if this sounds confusing but im just not sure on lead rein and i will be in my own showing jacket and jodhpurs so outfit is not problem.
Thanks

Usual show is to stand up for the judge then walk away, pick up trot & complete a figure of eight finishing in line with the judge (on the outside track) so they can see the pony side on. You only have to change sides when asked to do so (normally in showing a LR SHP classes). Maybe throw a skirt on over your jods (easy to take off ready for your own ridden class!). Good luck.
