can anybody explain to me how the freedom of movement mark is awarded in lead rein HOYS qualifiers, are we talking flashy movement or just that a pony is working happily in an unrestricted way and unforced?

BSPS website states that in lead rein classes the transitions should be smooth, movement not overly exaggerated and particular attention paid to a steady, supple head carriage showing no sign of tension or resentment. Hope that helps a bit.
