Hi just wondered if anyone out there has been through this and if so what were the results. I've just found out that my mare has severely enlarged annular ligament in both fetlocks causing intermittent lameness, she's had cortisteroid injections to no effect and vet has now recommended surgery to both legs to rectify this. ?

My coloured horse had annular ligament surgery 5 years ago this December. He was severely lame with it and if he wasn't operated on he would of had to of been put to sleep. His surgery went well and his recovery has been fantastic he has been off with other ligament problems since. But in them 5 years since having the surgery he has never been lame on that leg again hope you have a fast recovery

quick update, my mare has had her surgery at the end of July and had a few weeks box rest then another few weeks field rest. We went to the vets today and and I have to now get her back into work :-) vet has been really happy with her progress so fingers crossed the procedure has worked. Cant wait to get her out riding again :-)
