After all these horrible mix ups with marks I was losing hope slightly until guess what I saw in ring one at tsr?
*drumroll*
A calculator!
Finally we got there! Nice one tsr, don't know why I've not seen it before now. (By the way I understand judges and stewards all make mistakes as they are only human but generally at shows I have attended there hasn't been a calcator in sight, just seems a handy thing to have.)

However, I offered one to a steward last week, (someone very mentally numrate) and this particular lady visibly recoiled . . . .

Oh and as I said earlier it was the first time I in particular had noticed one, I wasn't assuming noone else did!

Thank you ! We did have 3 minor placings that were either added wrongly or were not carried forward and we have learnt from this. All rings with mark sheets from next year will have a large font calculator in the stewards pack As a back up.
We are so grateful to stewards for giving up their time it is the most thankless task now so many classes are marked and I don't think we can ever eradicate human error which especially under pressure and at the end of the day is a natural thing to happen !! We have corrected the minor placing results and sent everyone the correct rosette / prize money if applicable and our apologies.
Any ideas or feedback on good systems ( we have all the normal ones in place ) are most welcome !

I thought it was very well organised show! However i would like to say, i thought the little roped off walk way into the outdoor rings was very dangerous! You had children, adults, horses walking both ways threw this area! Think nxt time there should be separate walk way for children and adults and then one just for horses!

Yes to both counts more signs I had a job to find it myself the first time I went and a bigger entrance with a pedestrian section ( good for pushchairs as well ) Also a separate collecting area for in hand competitors with no ridden animals. If you would like to e mail your comments just a line will do we will add you to our prize draw on 31 July for everyone who gives us feedback ! If you don't mail I will still put your names in the hat and then PM you if you win.
