A very sad state of affairs....
A friends horse - a beautiful traditional, has had his tail chopped off, 2 days before attending the Trailblazers Finals!!! Is this really what showing is coming to? This is the 2nd incident this week that I've seen of this nature, totally unrelated I think but still.... How sad that someone feels the need to do things like this to someone else's pride and joy.
I am disgusted and I really hope that the find the low life scum who have done this.....

Obviously the motivation for these things can vary but I do know that horsehair is often used in hairpieces/clip in sections/weaves to look like afro hair with black and chestnut hair being the most desirable. I would hate to think that there was malice involved

It was definitely malicious as some of the tail has been found!!!
I really cannot believe that someone would do that to someone's horse!

That's horrible!! I saw a post on facebook where someone had broken in to a yard to chop off a horse's mane and tail and spray painted all over the horse and it's stable! I don't understand why people would do this, what's the point?

Poor pony (and owner) my son will be competing at the Trailblazers Champs and if I see that pony there I'll cheer it on and hope that the judges are understanding.
It's awful to think how cruel some people can actually be!

My traditionals tail was hacked at about 3 months ago, totally unprovoked, no strangers coming on to the yard as far as we can see on CCTV and there is no other traditionals on the yard who he would be competition to! They are total scumbags and want their fingers chopping off! The one that was done yesterday that is the topic of this post is my other halfs daughter! He said he's never seen her as upset before, I know exactly how she feels and it's totally awful but you have to try and beat the bullies and carry on with your chin up!!

I'm sure that she will be just as successful with her boy with or without half a tail! It's a joke that someone has stooped so low to do this.
BUT.... Chin up and Kick on! I'm sure that she will be up the top of the line with that gorgeous boy at the weekend :-)

What is wrong with people? Why are people always so bitter, jealous and resentful of others in horse world? Can we not just all be able to enjoy our horses, whilst we are lucky enough to be able to afford one and physically able to enjoy them? Evil thing to do to a pony in this heat with the flies.

Poor pony. I agree with all the above comments, these people are sick. Take your pony and hopefully you will see who's done by the expression on their faces.

Well..... It's safe to say that the vindictive person that did this to the pony have achieved nothing!!!
Said pony went to the show at the weekend and got reserve supreme! Even with half a tail!!!
Huge well done, just goes to show how nice the pony is!!!

Great! I'm so glad that she decided to go ahead and show.
My first pony - A grey Sec B that I had as a child (nearly 40 years ago!)had his mane hacked off in the field. I was devastated, but on the advice of the lady who owned a local riding school I carried on showing and did really well that season.

I don't understand why people would do this, what's the point? I saw this as well and assumed it must be a personal vendetta of some sort. Very sad for the owner but at least damage is not causing any pain to the horses it has happened to.

Our section D had her feather chopped off at some point last night. She looks a mess whoever has done it has made sure she looks too ridiculous to show.
I just can't understand it, we have no enemies as far as we know, lickily she wasn't harmed and the hair will grow back but we are really hurt at the fact someone would do this.
The equine world is going mad.

Huge well done, just goes to show how nice the pony is!!! Apologies, I'm going to swear! Bloody awesome! - and well done to all connections for sticking two fingers up, carrying on regardless. Just goes to show the quality is in the animal. Not the trimmings!
