Everyone is entitled to their opinion on a final line up. I wasn't watching the class nor was I in the class ! I cant comment for the top 2 ponies but since you have included the 3rd pony I do feel I should stick up for him. He is an incredibly consistent and well mannered example of a Dartmoor. He always goes beautifully and looks superb and his results confirm that. He has qualified for HOYS for 3 consecutive years, and has also been Supreme at Ponies UK/Equifest to name but a few. He won the home produced Mini Championship the following day. I am confused as to why there would be a more deserving pony in the top 3??? I agree, the third place pony in the open LR on the Friday, is a multi champion, produced to perfection. He always produces a foot perfect show, is balanced, steady always looking after his jockey. It sounds like a case of sour grapes to me?? Every judge has a 'type' and way of going they prefer. Judges decision is final and its refreshing that the class was judged on merit rather than faces! The other two higher placed ponies did nothing wrong and again placed accordingly.

Yes I agree with you both also, it's refreshing, but some of the line up was just not to my taste :-) Is it really necessary to make this type of comment, as well as your previous one? It comes across as very disdainful/disrespectful to the judge and competitors - so they weren't to your taste, so what? When you get to judge there, you can then choose what is to your taste.
