Anyone wash and reproof their rugs, how do you do it and what do you use please?

I do the ponies rug in the washing machine (only when hubby is at work) and I use the Nik Wax Wash and reproofer. You wash the rugs first and then do the proofing straight away.

as above but i use lincoln reproofer when dry !!!

Highlander lass! I am a professional rug laundry, please be very careful putting rug proof in your machine! It clogs all the pipes up!! My industrial machines have to be cleaned regularly!!

That wouldn't be a bad thing just now. We hate the washing machine we have just now, but can't justify buying a new one when there's nothing wrong with it. I don't do it often, just in an emergency as we have no rug washing and reproofing facilities on the island.

I pressure wash mine, hang them up to dry then use tent reproofer (tip I picked up on HG!) They come up lovely, no leaks and no damage to washing machine!
