How many of you on here are aware that the above drugs are now on the banned list for testing?? Just curious to know as I really don't think its common knowledge... look forward to hearing your replies...

I wasn't aware of that! Surely that puts veterans at a disadvantage??

Absolutely, it why we dont do Veteran qualifyers, it came up a few years ago when a young girl at PC had qualified for an area discipline , and she couldnt compete , and whilst the pony was sound and going well it was on Pergolide , which is classed as a band substance , but someone correct me if im wrong !!!!

Banned substance rules can be laughable - not sure if it's still the same but I looked up regumate once for a coloured mare. Chaps was running under jockey club rules which after difficulty in clarifying, I discovered ruled that any hormone supplement was banned. Chaps final at hoys under fei rules (which are easy to look up) and regumate allowed. So in theory you couldn't qualify using regumate but could compete in the final!
As I said, I looked into this a while ago so may be different now but I wish jockey club rules had been as easy to obtain as fei who listed each drug clearly!
