do you feed baileys outshine without linseed oil? Also does it have enough vitamins and minerals with it being a high oil food or do you need to feed another balancer with it? Thanks in advance

When I fed it last winter I fed Linseed along side as I needed it for weight gain but on its own it should still do a good job
Its not a complete feed so doesn't do the same job as a balancer, I fed a powdered vit/mineral supplement alongside it

when you mean weight gain is it a real fattening food? do you have to feed a large amount of this food?

Its not a balancer so should be fed alongside one, I give my 14hh a mug a day of outshine.

It was described to me by a producer as a bit like giving them a Macdonalds every day haahaaa! We fed it along side the Baileys low cal balancer and the Baileys No4 top line conditioning cubes with a handful of chaff and plenty of hay and had great results weight wise with a mare that didnt put weight on easily
As said above just a mug full a day, so the bag lasted us about 7-8 weeks

You do need a supplement alongside. Also, if you get chance to borrow a mug full to try, not all like it. I had two that wouldn't touch it even though they'd eat anything put in front of them. It's an expensive purchase to find they won't eat it!!

I can't say I am a huge fan of Baileys in general, and I've never noticed any gain when I've used outshine. I prefer Saracen Equijewel for weight gain and pure lindseed meal for shine.

Thanks everyone I feed a balancer and oil already but im just wanting that extra something for the shows next year I don't really want a fattening food as he looks right now but I was just wanting to feed it for the extra condition and shine but not the weight would you say half a scoop of the baileys outshine would be enough instead of a full scoop as im not wanting him to put weight on just the extra condition to his coat? I have heard its a good product for shine but I didn't know it was as fattening so I will be having a long think about this. Thanks for all your reply's everyone.

Micronised linseed may be an option? you can feed smaller amounts even to laminitics for coat shine and hoof condition then really up the amount for weight gain.

Condition IS extra fat. Normally a small amount of oil supplement or linseed will create the shine, but more of the feed will be needed for weight gain/conditioning.

You should only be feeding one cup a day of Baileys Outshine, two at the most. If you feed more than this then the horse will start to get very fat.
I also feed it alongside the TopSpec balancer having tried almost every feed on the market and they are the best two available for condition and coat shine :-)
