What are peoples thoughts on showing a native with the mane falling to the left and not the right?

Just a thought could you plait it, and rug, with something like a supreme body to train it?

Our shetland s mane fell to the left but we trained it over winter to fall to the right. It falls that way naturally now x

I have been plaiting, etc, using rugs and Lycra for almost a year on it now and it will not sit on the right side - just wondered if anyone knows of any natives that have been successfully shown with the mane on the left - plus there are no rules set for which side it has to sit on

We found that ridden it didn't seem to matter as much as in hand if that helps

I think it is just the luck of the draw! My Highland gelding is the only horse or pony out of the four I have owned so far whose mane falls naturally to the right. His sister's falls to the left but I have no intention of trying to get it go over the other side as I don't think it would "lie" properly on that side and it wouldn't look so lovely and long. It certainly hasn't stopped her doing very well in-hand so far and no judge has ever commented on it looking "wrong".
