Daughter is busting out of her 24 inch show jackets so I have just bought her two lush 2nd hand ones (tweed and blue). They are absolutely gorgeous but too big! Blue one is 26 and the tweed 27. The blue one is better than the tweed in the arm but quite big across the shoulders. Not overly worried as she will obv grow into them. Suppose she will have to stay in the 24s for a bit longer.

Suppose she will have to stay in the 24s for a bit longer. d**n Depends on manufacturer/label and cut of jacket ... some jackets allow a good few inches for movement and a little growth whilst others are only 1.5" or so bigger than the label says (all jackets will measure bigger than their label otherwise wearer wouldn't be able to move in skin-tight jacket) .. also, some manufacturers do a regular fit jacket AND a slim fit jacket and the room in these will differ .. your 27" tweed could actually measure 29"-30" in the chest thus being too large for your daughter. When buying a second hand show jacket, it is ideal if the seller will measure the jacket for you in the chest, waist, back length and outside sleeve and then you can compare with your current jacket
If you can move the front buttons on the 24" jackets over towards the edge then this will give your child a little more room in those jackets but probably by the time next summer is here, she will have grown more into the 26" and 27" jackets
Hope this helps

Oh that is a good idea (moving the buttons). Thanks. I'm not too worried - beautiful tweed that she will grow into. Just peeved that she cannot wear it now. LOL
