Has anybody ever had a velvet collar replaced on a tweed jacket? Rest of jacket is in very good condition but the collar is faded and spoils the look. Just wondered if anyone could recommend somebody to do this for me?

you can buy fabric of ebay and do it yourself... its fairly easy if you can sew i put a collar on my jacket and it only cost me about £4 and looks just as good

Take care when removing the existing velvet collar so that you can use it to cut a template for the replacement velvet

I have done loads. When replacing it is sometimes easier to put a new one over the top of the old one. A good dry cleaner will often have an alternations service that will do this too.
