Friend of mine. Has a horse on loan. She would like to buy the horse and the owner would like the loaner to buy the horse, the horse is no world beater but safe and sensible. They are just about to agree to a payment plan, and now my friend has discovered a sarcoid on the horse, which is actually quite aggressive(not really sure how she missed it tbh). She has the vet coming out on Tuesday and is going to tell the owner that she will not pay the full asking price for this horse and is now worried that when she says that the owner will take him back off of her. How much value would you take off with a horse with a sarcoid? Any other advice I can give her. She loves the horse dearly and doesn't want the owner to take him back but quite rightly thinks the sarcoid devalues the horse. Any advice will be great ?

in the real world it might devalue the horse ,,,, but you cant put a price on a safe and sensible horse,,, however that said ,,, your friend is going to incure vets bills in the future , so that might be the route to take with the present owner , that inview of the sarcoid , and relavent treatment that it will require in the future , would she consider a reduction on the asking price

After purchasing my horse i found a sarcoid under his belly, at first it was only little but it seemed to grow. Anyway i tried Thuja cream as it was a natural cream that wouldnt harm him id it didnt work. Anyway after a week of using this cream twice daily the sarcoid fell off. This left a small hole where the sarcoid had been, after keeping this clean it soon healed up and now months later there is still absolutely no signs of any returning or any signs he ever had one.
Where is the sarcoid at? If it isnt in an area where tack will lay then its often found it wont effect the horse (not always the case)
