Our Bateson Deauville trailer which we love is at the point where we need to either spend money on it or trade it in against something else, we've been advised its at the point where it will need a new ramp and possibly a whole new floor for next year ...which as yet I havent got a quote for
Anyone got an idea of what that would cost before I faint at the quote?
Great trailer to tow, but I'm wondering if rather than forking out for the labour I'm as well part x'ing it for another Bateson orrrrrr becoming a "sheep" ( a bit like iphones) and going for an Ifor Williams
Thank you x

Personally id go for a new one. We had an old Sinclair trailer that I loved, we put a new floor in ourselves quite cheaply (marine ply wooden floor and matting) which did ok for a while but then decided an aluminium floor would be better, it was more cost effective to go for a new trailer. I cant imagine a new aluminium floor and a ramp would be much less than 1k (though I may be wrong) which, if it were me, id rather put towards a new trailer

Bateson or fautras for me. If I had to go back to a trailer from my lorry I wouldn't consider any other trailers.

I'l look into the Fautras I hadnt considered those because of the ramp - or lack of - our boy doesnt load brilliantly. I'm also wondering if selling what we have and hiring one when needed would work out cheaper seeing as we dont go anywhere over winter...hmmm

I have found that as the doors open, so in effect you have sides, the ramp s short & very stable, they are much more secure, load really well.

I had a 2 horse, forward facing fautras before getting a lorry and never had a problem with loading. We very rarely used the pull out ramp as most were happy to just step in.
The bateson I had prior had ramp doors too and I loved the option to shut the door behind one horse if leaving them standing on it but still having loads of ventilation with the other door open.

I have the bateson Ascot. I'd probably part ex and get a new one. If you are near bateson they do ex demo trailers that are about a grand cheaper, that's how I got mine
