Can you get an experienced rider on board, one who is a suitable weight.

Can you get an experienced rider on board, one who is a suitable weight. Hi I am small enough and do ride him a bit, but the pony seems to just come above the bridle with my little one on... how can can I get her to maintain it with small person on board ? Thanks

look at the way your daughter rides, what sort of bit do you use? I am guessing that if your daughter rides independently, i.e. without holding one, her hands may move a little which would make the pony change her head position. If you do not already do so try using a loose ringed bit as it allows a bit of give. Watch to see how high your daughter holds her hands and when you ride put your hands at the same height, see if that replicates what happens with your daughter. I think it is your daughter you need to change rather than the pony if the pony goes well for you. Please do not be tempted to use a wilkie. If this does not help then come back with more information or photos

Thanks There are so many things to take into consideration .... pony's age, experience, conformation, child's age and experience riding off the lead, has your pony has his back, teeth and saddle checked?

Yes, back and saddle checked, teeth are next on the list. My daughter rides well for her age and has pretty good steady hands. Thank you for your thoughts And ideas 👍
