My 9 year old princess cat Lillywhite has a terrible habit of attacking her tail and sometimes her back legs and body. It really can be a vicious attack she has injured her tail before and had to go to the vets. She has a happy stress free life, she is healthy and very much loved. My vet (who is a friend) has suggested a product which destresses cats that start spraying and are scared of fireworks etc. she thinks this might help! It comes in a plug in defuser or a spray. Has anyone used it or heard of anyone using it? Dont want to spend out over £30 and it is rubbish.

I think I may be able to help you with this. Yes, the difusers are VERY good, for helping ease stress in cats, but it can get very expensive, unless she only does this in one room?
However, if you think about the cause..... What is causing her to do this?
My Bengal cat developed a chemical intolerance. Nobody, including the vets knew what was wrong with her, but by googling her symptoms, which including biting herself, I discovered lots I didnt know about cats.
1/ Have you got any air fresheners? If so - get rid. 2/ Does her food have any artificals in it at all? Biscuits included? If so, change. BURNS is the best product for hyper-allergic animals. 3/ Do you use cat litter? If so, change it to a totally different one with no chemicals. "Best Cat Litter in the World", we were told is best for allergies.
None of these changes cost any more or less, than your usual, but our Bengal, is totally transformed, back to her old happy self.
If they dont work, you will have made her healthier anyway?
Maybe worth a try?
