Mirth, to put the record straight, I think you'll find it wasn't 'Charlotte Sant' second in the novice Int show RT, either!

Seemed okay to me. Bit slippy in the morning in the big WH ring, but was okay. Rings were fine.. some very uneven!! The backfeild was good apart from getting on and off.. but apperently they were getting hardcore for tomorrow nps area 5

I am thankful for the people who support this thread and put results up of the shows I don't manage to get to and those i do, if I have missed results. However, I feel that comments like yours will deter people from writing results on here if they are going to get (was comes across as) impolite comments for making genuine mistakes!

Ernie, The only reason that I made comment, was that it was this particular 15 yr old's first time in an Intermediate class, and on a green novice, too.
I mean no malice, but sometimes it's better to say nothing than to get it so wrong, because there was also a mixed generation on the other name, too. (Charlotte 'Sant' being Charlotte Thompson, Sant being her mothers maiden name.)
So, to put the record straight, 2nd in the Novice Int SRT was Stanley Grange City Lights, ridden by JILL SLIGHT.
Naturally, I meant no offence. I'm sure 'Mirth' will understand!! (and, I do understand early mornings, have done enough of 'em!!)

No, Mirth, I wasn't! I haven't a clue how many Intermediate classes YOU have ridden in! But, very well done, on your success yesterday.
This is becoming a somewhat out of preportion. I'm beginning to feel sorry that I intervened.

I do apologise, I wasn't aware that you were only allowed to post results of the classes that you compete in and have done so for some time! I hope you don't mind me saying but your comments seem very petty. I am not sure why you comment on it being Mirth's first Intermediate class, why you bring attention to the Intermediate being very green - as I thought it was a novice class!!! Surely that's the whole point of a novice class! As far as I can see one (as you point out) 15 year old jockey made a mistake with a name and I don't think they need to be so publicy humiliated in this way.

Look, this is getting really silly.
I simply put the record straight regarding the 2nd placed in that class. I have no idea and I do not want, or need to know how old the winner's rider is.
My little bit of putting the record straight (regarding the second placed), was based on an incorrect assumption and for that I apologise. I disagreeumption was, that, only a - dare I say 'older' person would know a name of a 'grandparent, as it were. The other, is that as "Mirth" was a very famous 13.2hh show pony in the late 60's, I WRONGLY assumed that 'mirth' was an older person, who would have known the maiden name concerned.
And I felt it a little unfortunate that someone who had made her very first forray into a 'senior' class, and managed to finish in the frame, be given the wrong person's name, albeit by mistake.
That's all.
And yes, a Novice class is intended for - well - Novices!!

OMG you are all so touchy! Thought this showing and forum was supposed to be a pleasant, enjoyable thing ... and as a matter of interest, MIRTH is a very pleasant and well-mannered young lady whom anyone would be pleased to have as a friend

As a matter of interest, how did they show that mark - and who gave it They gave marks out of ten for position after go round (ie. 1st got 10; 2nd got 9, 3rd got 8 and so on) and then they marked the individual show out of 50 and totted up the two marks at the end to give overall mark out of 60 .. brill idea, so refreshing and rewarding for good go round .. well done judges!

I am sure a few years ago Nigel Hollings sugested a 3 mark system and it was not approved. I am not sure if he suggested having an mark for type rather than the go round as there were a lot of SHP and SP winning the small SRT classes due to animals going well and having good conformation. Penny hope you will correct me if I am mistaken.
