Who stood out in the d's just out of interest because other than one really big moving flashy (driving type) cob (black with 4 whites finer type) they all pretty much blended together for me

I though in the sec Ds the ponies that stood out for me were as said above the black flashy one and also the 4th placed pony fflosafos the fox for its movement and flashy markings.

Sorry can no longer keep stum, so will put a little information your way to digest, or assassinate as you wish. Our C won the class ;D ;D, Valba SPG Posuer, his sire is Peasdown Perfect Poseur, full brother to Peasdown Party Popper so much for a small D It is only the second time we have been under that particular ride judge, the first was over 4 years ago, and we did not win the class!! He does not go 'on the forehand' offense is taken with that remark, so please do not retract your comment. To the lady who mentioned her horsebox being fixed, thank you very much for the kind words, that was my daughters fiance who helped you (the owner and rider of Po), and I will pass on your kind thanks to him.

Not all judges are impressed by 'flashy' ness, or 'movement and flashy markings' in ridden classes. Correct way of going and overall correct conformation also have their place. Some judges are far too easily impressed by 'flashyness' and cannot see past it unfortunately!!

In reply to highest confo marks, they couldnt have been more different the 4th and 6th placed cobs so it sort of makes the idea that she liked big heavy cobs not quite true 4th was a big cob but 6th was very much a leaner longer lighter looking cob Well done all

Does anyone know if you can get copies of the mark sheet for the A and B class. our pony didnt go to well and we found he has gone stiff in his back but I would like to see the conformation mark he got if possible.

I am sure the top conformation mark was 42 which was the winner, top show mark was 45 which was the 3rd pony I do not have a copy of the marks, but if my memory is right I am sure the winner had 9 more marks than us for conformation.

The D That won was deffinatley not Tireve Byron. He is my friends horse and was happily grazing with his mates at home, unless some one borrowed him without telling us. Hes also more handsome than the one that won and a gelding

Its deffinately Not all about bein "flashy" But if a horse does a good show, has good conformation, good mover, and on top is flashy to make it stands out! surely it ticks all boxes ! I think the winner of the class was a nice horse ! The judging was good. Obviously with all horses going well , personal prefernce is going to come into the final line up!

I'm sorry but i have to disagree!! On the go round it went awful and it show was NOT very good, even if they liked that "type" of cob it did not deserve to win!!

i understand what you are saying about 'flashy'ness shouldnt be the sole judegement aspect, but i do think in a strong class like area6 with 35+ sec Ds in, in which all bar one (the one that bolted) done very very good respectable shows, then flashyness does help stand out abit! i agree that the judges prefered the heavier types but thats there preference. I think the class was very well contended and that all 6 placed horses in the class were thoroughly deserved, but a type of cob was clearly defined in the results. i think there were a few that stood out in the class, such as the black with 4 white socks and the fourth placed one along with the two duns. there was bound to be some dissapointment for some competitiors for doing fab shows but not getting placed but in order to get through the judges must have to have been very critical, which i belive is why some got low ride marks despite having gone well. over all i think the judges did quite a good job in all the m&m classes especially having to stand in the sun for the whole day having had around 100 horses parade in front of them! well done to all who were placed definatly ones to look out for!

My boy was the 4th placed 'D' in the class, Ffoslass the Fox, we were thrilled to be placed in such a strong big class, our boy is certainly a bigger, chunkier and flashy D, however like previous posts state some judges like the chunkier, flashier types whilst other judges not so, we dont mind you take it on the chin as WE LOVE HIM TO BITS whether he was chunky, skinny, big or small, he is our superstar!!

i also in my opinion like the chunkier types, after all they are wesh section D's of 'cob' types, therefore should look chunkier, as apposed to the welsh section c 'pony' of cobs types in which i belive should be slightly more refined with smaller pony features such as pretty pony heads with little day light underneath, in my oopinion more and more section c's are gaining horsey features, looking more like the former 14.2 section d's.

Sam Roberts rode a black one, ours is a black one but has 3 not 4 white socks, I think there were 4 black ones altogether ours is a big mover but not flashy and I hate the ones that go faster and faster in an attempt to get a big trot any pony that is a big mover does not need to charge around like a steam train IMO.

There is a thread on the main board about faciness. These judges did not judge faces as nearly all the results show. Why are people still not happy. I was pleased for the girl who won, it may not be my type, but it was the judges type on the day. We did a really good show and came nowhere, so what, it was so nice to see a really happy winner who was crying on the lap of honour. I only hope she doesnt come on her. Well done to all the winners and the losers the classes were full of quality and it was anyones chance, not just faces.

igiveup - it's the same people saying the same things over and over and over again!!!! Very boring but unfortunately too spineless to put in a complaint (not sure it's even worth a complaint majority of the time) so keep moaning about it behind a keyboard and monitor!

There was nothing to complain about on Saturday, with in excess of 30 in the class all competitors know its a lottery! However we still think ours is the best and rightfully so otherwise we should be looking for something else!
