Perhaps a little thought and some huge thanks should be given to the committee who give up so much time (all voluntary) to give us all shows like the Derbyshire Festival, competitors and all seem to forget that !!

Well done to the conformation judge in the hoys M&M who did a fantastic job. Not facey at all. Ride judge All us stood around the ring are not stupid, you made yourself look a fool. Anything the conformation judge liked, the ride judge gave bottom marks, (even if they did a good show) Judges should walk in the ring separate and stay separate until they have finished giving marks. If that isn’t possible, don’t tell your co judge what ponies you like. Bent judges use it to their advantage.

We saw the winner of one class blantanly attempt to hump in its gallop and despite the riders best efforts to hide it became unbalanced and in our opinion and people around us we all agreed it had blown it, then went ahead and won the class with a shockingly high ride mark for how it went, other proven ponies going fluently and not being justified in their marks Will be going under the conformation judge again but shall be giving the ride judge a very wide berth!

Emma Boardman's C Mare is Stoatleytwo Daisy Jane. She rang and told me she had qualified for HOYS. Pony's Grand Sire is Llanina Maredudd, who is also sire of Floreat Dandelion. So both ponies get their HOYS tickets on same week-end. Yes I do have an interest in this pony, I bred her. Also qualified in 2008, when only a 4 year old. Very proud and glad that she is in such good hands.

Would that be Mr M Northam - surely no secret as have just looked it up on the schedule - is this typical of his judging then? I was not at the show, but would not like to waste my entry fee at a future date. If I am wrong I apologise in advance.

I am on the committee of Derbyshire Festival and would like to say a huge thank you to all the team for all their hard work and also our army of friends , spouses, families and everyone else who helped out at our Summer Festival. Without whom we couldn't do it. As for all you 'GUESTS' who seem to think some judges are 'bent' get off your backsides get on relevant judging panels and do a better job. I stewarded in the said ring and think that both judges did a good job and they didn't know what had done what until they were called forward. Thank you also to all the judges yesterday as again the show couldn't go a head with out them.

Bent judges use it to their advantage. from what i could see( i was in the conni / NF class ) the ride and confirmation judges were seperate throughout the go round ? one on one side and one on the other ? The conf didnt like my boy , but looking at the marks she gave to other ponies i know why she didnt like him .. he just isnt her type , but i am not pointing the finger , that was her preference and she was consistant with it . Judging isnt an easy job especially when there are 20 / 30 / 40 odd in a class i thought the top two at least in the conni / Nf were worthy of the top slots didnt watch any of the other sections tho well done to the commitee , it was a fab and busy show , very well organised

Everybody at the ringside was aware of it, so to deny any wrong doing on the judges part is IMO, very very naive. The ride judge put his own jockey top of the line. A jockey, which i may add, is not Nebo Jonny Jones' regular rider. Funny how she was only on him for that qualifier isnt it... As i said, couldnt be more obvious.

"Guests" disgust me and pay back guests post is one of the worst I have yet to see. For your information none of the ponies from the yard I assume you a referring to are even entered for Lincoln so the pay back you seem to be hinting at would have no chance of taking place even if the integrity of the two judges at Lincoln was in question which I am sure it is not.

Don't want to get involved in the "discussion" of the judging. We went and had an enjoyable day. My daughter was only placed in one of her classes but we were pleased with how our pony went. We are relative newcomers to showing at this level but really enjoyed this Show and look forward to next year. Thanks very much to all those involved in arranging it

OMG what is it with these guests?? atleast show yourselves instead of being so bloody gutless because this kind of bulls*** is enough to make me want to quit showing and we are only just getting into it, it is pathetic!!!! to know that i maybe stood at ringside and my daughter maybe in the ring with such pathetic people really makes me sick!! douglas i am sure you and your team worked very hard, and did a fab job, i didnt go to this show, but i know you personally and i know you are passionate about what you do. np x

It is such a shame as Nebo Jonny Jones is a lovely cob and I have seen the usual rider ride it better than Gemma.
He didnt need this, the owner would probably of qualified him herself.
I also know that a certain person travelled a very long way and got top conformation mark in one of the classes, but blew it in their show so it wasnt just the ride judge, but at least she gave everyone a sweet. ;D
A lot of us seasoned campaigners know this happens, the best you can do is not go under judges you dont think are fair or just get very drunk.

Sorry, I must be missing something. Nebo Johnny Jones lives less than 5 miles from us & is usually ridden by Arwel's daughter, I believe. Why should Nebo Johnny Jones not have won - he's winning everywhere anyway (not that that should mean anything) - what did he do wrong?

John's Cuckoo comes to mind and didnt Gemma ride you C previously.

whyw yes I do have one pony in the yard not something I have made a secret of and I am delighted to have him there . The point I was making was that there could be no payback as none of the ponies from the yard are even entered at Lincoln . Yes suprised Gemma did ride Riddy but before I owned him and not for at least 2 and a half years .

Pencaedu - Jonny Jones has been indeed winning everywhere with his regular jockey, so that begs the question as to why they felt the need to change the jockey for this HOYS qualifier? Completely agree with Suprised - Jonny Jones would have got his ticket with his owner this year, they didnt need to cheat. In doing so they have actually taken something away from the horse.

Was that connections - or corruptions? Still loving it - only wish I knew who/what they are talking about!? How do you get this insider knowledge? Is it like the Masons?

So you agree with cheating then do you nativeponies? And you think it is fair that other horses who performed better on the day were robbed of their ticket? How would you feel if it was your daughter standing second when you knew full well the result was already set up, but it was you who actually deserved to win?
