Well, I thought Rosmarche Hemlock went superbly and I would expect him to be a favourite for the top honours this year. P.S. he is a welsh sec A not a dartie! Well done to Abigale I thought you rode beautifully.

I heard from a friend at the champs that some of the results from Thursday evening had to be amended on Friday morning due to incorrect adding up of the marks. I think it was the section c novice class that was affected.

Hi Question
No I do not know the pony (Hemlock) or the family. Was at the show as a spectator - no ponies at the show. I have never seen this Sec A before, not one from my area, he went beautifully in all of his finals and obviously pleased all of his judges. Had no idea he had previously qualified HOYS or Olympia. The Olympia Champion Stowbrook Jenny wren was also out in the novice first ridden finishing second to Hemlock.

BSPS rules need changing. I ended up in a rather deep conversation with a lovely mother on the ringside - apologies for not remembering your name!
The grey A was a beautiful pony but seems completely unreasonable for it to still be competing in novice classes due to a technical rule - if I remember correctly the pony has been to HOYS twice as a first ridden and Olympia as an open pony - what sort of satisfaction do these people get out of winning novice classes now when the pony has been at a producers for several years and the child in question reportedly has plenty of ring experience?? I was there and I stress that I do not know the pony/family personally, BUT I heard plenty of grumbling and threats of written complaints from angry mothers of real novices. Stowbrook Jenny Wren was also a point of anguish, but at least as a first ridden she really is a novice and was not rosette collecting in open classes.
Surely BSPS need to change their rules slightly - to have multiple HOYS qualifying ponies in novice classes seems ludicrous?!?
However, well done to everyone at the champs - have any supreme results come through??

HOYS coloured results
Non native Horse - Electric Storm Non Native Pony - Southfarm chipmunk Native pony - Sarah Ambler no idea what its called ? Native Horse - Jasper Bailey
Judging seemed a little strange with some surprises in the final line ups. Was it just me or does any one else think the same ?

Do you mean in the coloured classes or all of them?? Definately some suprises in the classes I saw. Not sure of many results, remember RIHS 122 SHP winner was Caradines M'Lord, who also won the Restricted 122 SHP, Rodham Sir Thomas won the Open 122 SHP.

This was discussed at length on a previous thread & was a very heated debate as many people have very strong opinions on the matter. I just wanted to point out that BSPS did listen to there members at the end of last year & did go some way to tightening the rules up, however i would argue that there is still a way to go! With regard to my previous post about amended results i am really sorry "Which Class" i simply cannot remember which particular class my friend said, only that it was section C's, i am sure someone who knows for sure will fill us in as soon as they get home.
