beautiful highland well done but i was abit apauled about the reserve supream as it was a man in no show attire ( jeans, rain coat ect) and it didnt go particuarly well IMO, and then a lady got on in show attire for pictures?? this could be a diffrent thread but is it even allowed??

Doesnt surprise me, there was people in my classes with jeans, baseball caps and jackets with their names and stud printed all over them. This seems to be a trend in the coloured classes this season and for some reason it hasnt been picked up on.

This was not even an in hand person. Walked passed the officials tent to hear said horse owners mother making sure all the judges knew who her daughter was and which animals. After obviously finding out he was a hunter judge she jumps off intermediate and gets on hunter (in intermediate dress) and then a lad gets on and RIDES the horse in the SUPREME in trainers, jeans, waterproof jacket, no gloves and a cellotape hat highland was a deserved winner but the intermediate bounced its way round the ring and certain did not deserve to be placed. I was just an observer and had no interest in the people in the ring and was very appaulled. Reserve should have in my opinion gone to the lead rein that went beautifully. Girl then gets off her horse and swaps for the photographs not fair on all the others that waited in the rain and animal went nicely and had turned up properly dressed

it's against the rules. Did anybody not thing to complain and present a rulebook. I didn't see the lanchester schedule but somewhere i'm pretty sure it would have stated that correct riding attire was compulsory. Was it the intermediate that was ridden by this man. rules 46-49 in the bsps rule book which governed the intermediates cover this. i know the championship's a different story but some of the show organisers are completetly oblivious to every single rule.
it even covers piercings. I'm sick of seeing earings and other piercing in classes. It looks so scruffy and you can actually get sent out because of it

Nope sorry will see if dad knows. I must say the Chaps and Bspa classes this season have let dress rules slip and its annoying when you try and stick by the rules and turnout correctly even in the worst weather conditions. After all its all part of showing to follow the rules they are their for a reason.

Well what makes it worse is this person who owns these horses and was riding the hunter is a probationary judge i believe and definitely represents and has for a few years her area in the BSPS Young Judges competition!!!!!! So obviousy either choose to ignore the rules or has never read the rules properly

So if she was stewarding earlier for the judge of the supreme how can she compete under him Makes the judging of the supreme a bit of a joke in my eyes

I for one would like to know how this persons hunter actually won and was champion if she was stewarding the hunter class with him??? Did someone ride the horse instead of her??? Orrr was she replaced as a steward so she could ride this horse???
I did see her warming up the intermediate and it was going daft, but never saw her on the hunter.

I dont see what relevance young judges has here. As I too have been on the team that won I actually feel quite offended that the area team has been dragged into this. especially the suggestion that we 'never read the rules properly'.

Jadet. reading the post I don't think the reference to not reading the rules was aimed at the young judges team but at the individual concerned. I was not at the show so cannot comment but you have given us tremendous credit as a young judge for the area over the last few years.x

having read all of this thread with great interest the thing that comes straight to my mind is Where was the secretary of the show during all this. Surely a secretary should be aware of all rule books covering the show.

Shouldn't the judge of the Supreme known the rules as well?
