Thanks Magpie - we agree he is scrummy!! and I know Chloe is looking forward to riding him tomorrow in the wild card as she qualified him. Having said that I think tomorrow is her best day as she gets to ride the fabulous Snowgoose, this is one pony we would both steal!! Think this may be his last season under saddle before he returns to the Shilstone Rocks stud so wish them well for tomorrow. I will be hard at work so will miss it all - hey ho! Well done to everyone at NPS sounds like a good time is being had by all.

I understand that there was a complaint to the course builder after the intermediate but I have no idea from whom. All the above being said, only 6 horses managed to go clear and the form stacked up because the first three had already qualified. I think it would be useful if all the course builders had the same stick for measuring as the coursebuilder told Daisy that they were up to height but obviously Mr Norlander has a different way of measuring! Her theory was that after RI everything looked small - perhaps that was it!

Who was the course builder on wed for the intermediates

I understand the same course builder did both rings - which is a big ask! Having said that, fence 1 in the 133 hoys yesterday was about 55cm! I am sure he will argue that he got the right number of clears in each class but the water splash caused a huge amount of grief, as did the fence out of the woods. Cannot comment on the Intermediates the previous day. I don't think Mr Norlander has the erroneous stick!

NFU Champ: Lecarrow King (apparently went extremely well and very much deserved) Reserve: Sunglow Lady Paula Other winners from what I can remember from my phone call! Welsh A: Bengad Rumex Welsh B: Rhoson Shem (not forward for championship) Welsh C: Wyken Lady Jasmine Welsh D: Pennal The Great (I think...) Fell: Carrock I'm Yer Man Dartmoor: Lickfolds Snowstorm (also not forward for championship) Exmoor: Waltersgay Nightingale Can't remember new forest, shetland or highland sorry but they might be elsewhere on this thread! From what I can gather entries are mixed - breed classes generally well supported, and many of the finals are as big as ever. Apparently junior rings on Wednesday were much less busy than last year, and the ground isn't holding up very well. All second hand information though!

For although the numbers of clears in the 133, 143 and int sections were spot on, the course was 'interesting' shall we say with only ONE spread on the whole course (for although they only require one I don't think I have ever only seen one in a qualifier) . The fence on the mound and the jump out the wood and water splash are great, but they have that most of the time at NPS, and the course other than those 3 areas was poor - the last fence was at least twice the height of the first fence!! how the 1st fence was over minimum height I have no idea! Without the last fence there would have been double the clears i would imagine. I can understand why people would say it was a good course - I imagine there will be some very different opinions on what a 'good course' is
I also had to laugh at the paragraph in H&H regarding the praise for the course at North of Endland.....everyone I spoke to at the show thought it was awful
Millman, holton, barclay and norlander to name but a few are miles better IMO
The roan 3rd in the 14hh was chandeam pippaley (it won and qual at NoE)
2nd in the 15hh was the cobra (also with a pole) and 3rd foxhall lucky charm
Daydream went champ and seaford top cat reserve

Can anyone tell me if its posssible to get the marks for the peasedown classes & how i go about doing this? We've tried to get a look at marks before, but are told they are only for the judges reference and not for public viewing, perhaps nps might rethink this as it would help with transparency?

There seems to be a lot of talking about the Course builder in the WHP rings, I would just like to add that we took out 5 year old Section A pony for the HOYS class, the Intermediate Final and the Native Breeds Final and would like to say that I thought the courses were all fab!
Our mare had a penalty at the water splash in the HOYS but this was the first time she had ever seen and was totally forgiven the course rode really well and the ground held up really well.
The intermediate and the Native breeds also rode really well and were lovely courses.
I often think that course builders get a rough deal as they are usually the first to arrive and last to arrive with little thanks so I for one would like to say Thank you!!!
