I didnt go under the male judge...... i entered my classes so that all the ponies had a class in each ring therefore under both judges, but as we were going into the ring for the first class they moved it and had it in the other ring, i did however go and tell them i wasnt happy and they refunded me so we went home early, the judging seemed strange in both rings but hey thats showing for you. i thought i had been under the male judge somewhere before but i cant think were or waht he was like!

Both the judges were rude, arrogant and nasty. they also happened to be brother and sister. The show has always been nice and them to just ruined it for everybody. I really feel sorry for the committee as they had that many complants and enteries to refund it was not worth holding the show in the end. The judges were not suppost to be at the show they were replacments for another. The male judge was asked by a horse owner why he did not look at his horse when he had paid his enterie fee like every body else and the reply was '' i dont need to look at a horse i saw it walk in and thats was enuff to judge'' and the female judge was scared Sh**less of stallions and pulled them all out in a corner. then went over to her brother and got him to place them.
Put it this way the judges got told by more than 1 person at the end of the day.

I too felt really sorry for the organisors of the show one who was in tears at the end who do this entirely on a voluntary basis. Some of the competitors there were so rude to both judges going into the ring and actually shouting abuse at them I felt ashamed to be part of the showing world. what has happened to the showing world when this can happen to a local well run show with fantastic prize money. I talked to one of the organisors today and they were so fed up at the moment I dont think it will run again. what has happened to the judge has his own opinion and everyone knows you are at the top of the line one day and the bottom the next. I think the showing world needs to stop complaining or it will be too late and we will have no shows to go too. A little thanks goes along way when you have put alot of hours into running shows like this

i agree i am a member of that show and have been for many years. Its not the fact that the judges put the ponies down the line up it was there attitude. at the end of the day people paid good hard earned money and had spent alot of time and effort to get their ponies ready to not even have them looked at. Also the lady judge was trying to tell everybody how to stand a pony up square and how fast and slow to run it, she was their to judge a class not give a lesson.
half way through the day they did not even bother running the ponies out on a first run out. I have never seen anything like it. I dont blame people for shouting at the judges i no it should not be done but they were just dam right rude.

call me old fashioned but I am sorry I still dont think competitors should go into a ring f'ing and b'ing at a judge while they are still judging. This happened on more than one occasion on sunday--we are not soccer hooligans in the show world.
and perhaps more importantly to the ladies in the office who were trying there best.
i know we all complain about judges at the side of the ring and at home but in my opionion (and my horses were bottom of the line) this was totally unacceptable behaviour from competitors.

We own the champion Gordon. We have been showing horses for over 30years. When we arrived at the show field both people parked on each side of us made us welcome and were very friendly, going to book in i meet with the same friendly response. We all know in the horse world you are at the top one day and the bottom of the line the next. We went for a nice day out to come home with a rosette would have been a bonus to win the supreme was unbeliveable. The people who run these shows and judge at them do so for nothing of very little reward . The way some people spoke to the judges and the organizers was unacceptable alot of time and effort is put into to running these shows. If you have a compalint please make it in the correct way and read the shows rules. This is the first time I have ever been on one of these sites but I felt someone should speak up. Thank you again Leyland and District horse show for a nice day and Gordon will be wearing a nice new rug bought out of his winnings.

I was at the show spectating on Sunday and happened to be at the ring side when two people went in the ring to speak to the judge, I know there was no f'ing or b'ing, they were asking the judge how he had placed a lame horse 3rd, and asking what panel the judges were on. The judge replied " His own panel" ! This says it all.
Maybe the show organisers are volunteers and I appreciate that it is hard work, but why change a schedule on the day of a show. Could it be that the judge was judging off the wrong schedule as I believe he told a competitor that their yealing was too big for the class, when it clearly stated that it was any height born in 2008, he obviously thought he was judging the 2/3 yr old class which had a height limit !
The lady judge also went and asked the competitors what class it was after they had done there individual shows !!

Unfortunately I believe the down side to this show is the committee are adamant they will not disclose who the judges are, if this was disclosed it would give competitors the opportunity to decide if they wanted to go under that particular judge or not I know on this occassion the judges were changed on the last minute but it could have been posted on the website!
Does anyone know who the judges were?

yes a Mr Moorcroft and a Mrs Rodgerson they were brother and sister !! We kept asking all day who the judges were and they couldnt remember there names or what panels they were from. Then they said that they were definatly from the BSPS panel, which we new couldnt be true becase they were touching the horses which is not allowed. We eventually got there names in the end !

i competed on sunday, was not happy with the 2/3yr classes running on at the same time. so i had to rush my 3yr old off the trailer and get her ready in no time. so she was very upset. she went in the class. wouldnt standfor the judge as she was too busy looking at the other ring. but did a fab trot. was pleased wither her getting 4th as tis was her 2nd show, but first time out doors! thought the judge was rude as he didnt really take much notice of the horses apart from the top 3. he said two things to me. that my horse had a lump as she had been bitten by a horse fly. not sure if i would do that show again as i didnt enjoy it.
