If I took pics at a show of other peoples ponies can I put them online without their permission. The reason Im asking is I took a few pics at a couple of shows playing with new camera, some are at puk winter champs. would put some nice ones on but dont know if i can.

Magazines, papers and online publications do this all the time. Equine photographers do it every week just browse their web sites and you will see.
There are no laws against it.

I'm very glad you said that, because I am often taking pics of children on their lovely ponies at shows, and don't ask the owners or parents first!!! (or after). At least the trend for political correctness hasn't got as far as horse shows. It has now really got out of hand, some schools frown upon parents taking pics of their children swimming etc. The whole world has gone PC mad which is very sad.

That may change things if it's children you are photographing. I would advise you to be very cautious since people can be VERY sensitive nowadays about it. Most kids aren't even allowed to have their parents take photos of them in school plays in case the photos are for the wrong purpose.

The only way to get round this and prove it is just for the ponies would be to cut the children out the photo if you intend to publish them online. - also if a parent was concerned by it, or took offence to it, as you didn't/haven't asked permission, could get you into trouble. just so you know.

I have noticed that a few schedules state that a photographer will be present and should anybody object to their child being photographed to say so
