Was anyone else unfortunate enough to witness the very 'well oiled' cob competitor using extremely foul and agressive language regarding the winner of the cob championship at equifest??
The lady herself has had more than her fair share of success, but was so vitriolic about both the winning cob and rider.
I have been told she was later escorted off the premises but was wondering if there is a place for this sort of behaviour to be penalised by a ban or fine imposed by the governing body as would be the case in dog showing???
Can I just add I have no connection to cobs in any way at all, I was just shocked and saddened by this whole 'performance'!!

You have obviously come on to cause trouble. This could be one of two people who you are trying to insinuate! The first person I can think of is actually seriously ill in hospital at the moment- so u really are sick!!
The second person- was not happy with her place and politely asked the judge in the ring why he dropped her! It turns out that the judge lives next door to the person that won! If there is any scandal- it is the bent judging!!
Neither of these people were escorted off the showfield- or used foul language, nor was there any trouble. Both of these people competed for the whole time and had classes subsequently and were in evening performances. So this ridiculous remark that they were escorted from the show field is crazy. They both competed for the duration of the show!
What utter nonsense you are talking! I wish the organiser of Equifest would come on here and clear this ridiculous, jealous, sensationalism up.
Bit of advice: Instead of slagging people off (especially people very good at what they do!!)- try doing it yourself and see how many results you get!

Dont know which cob championship we are talking about here but just wanted to add that if it was the championship in the first evening performance of the show, then I loved the dun cob that won. Thought it was a worthy winner!!

This sounds made up to me......... I was there and watched all the cob classes / or groomed in them.
The only unhappy face I saw was on a well known cob competitor who went into a championship as a 2nd placed horse. Soon smiled though when she went reserve beating the 1st placed horse!

tired of trouble makers..... please ensure you get your facts straight before getting involved in something just to try and stir up trouble. My question specifically asked if anyone else had witnessed the incident...which you obviously had not!!!
As for the judge living next door...it took me less than 2 minutes to research that both judges came from Essex but the exhibitor of the gorgeous dun cob that took the championship lives in Cambridgeshire....hardly neighbours!!!!! It sounds like you may be connected to the 'sore loser' in question to imply this without knowing the facts?
I dont believe my comments were derogatory (sp?) to any of the exhibits in the class, nor were they meant to be. Neither did I ever imply I could do any better!
However having only recently returned to showing I have been shocked by the bad sportsmanship and this was just was just one of those examples which prompted me to make my comment.

What day of competition are you talking about?
And YES you're facts are wrong! No exhibitor was asked to leave the showground! What a made-up load of old clap-trap!!!! Think u should go to specsavers!!!!
If u are insinuating that 'the cob woman from Sussex'(shall we call her!) was implicated in this- then how is it that she competed on Saturday in 2 coloured classes and won! Funny kind of throwing out to me!!!

tired of trouble makers...I was talking about Thursdays classes, and the events of Thursday night following the championship.
As I stated I was told that this person WAS escorted off the showground that evening from someone who stayed on longer than me...I never said she had been barred from competing any further (if indeed she did) I do not know how you can be so certain that this event did not happen just because you didnt witness it.
I think you are refering to Lynn Russell??? No it was most definitly NOT her and I dont believe I ever insinuated it was....I recognised the person in question as being a connection/exhibitor (although not the rider) during the class.
I do feel your response was far too agressive in tone considering you clearly did not know who, or even which day, I was refering to, it seems you have made a lot of assumptions which have proved to be incorrect...................

Well then so as there is no confusion- who are u referring to? If you are certain that you're facts are true and you were there and witnessed it- lets hear it!! Don't be shy. U started the thread remember!! You are referring to an individual- who is it then?

I did indeed start the thread, and asked if there was anything which could be done to try and discourage this behaviour from future events, and suggested a possible measure to open a discussion.
You seem intent on trying to stir up trouble from what was a constructive post on a specific subject.
I will not name anyone, or otherwise justify myself to someone who has come across to me as nothing but a trouble maker, nor will I engage in any further discussion with you unless it is on the specific subject of the thread, which to prevent any confusion is to see if there is anything that can be done to prevent such outbursts of bad sportsmanship occuring in future.

I am merely trying to determine whether there even was any such behaviour! You seem to be the only person to have mentioned it! Equifest was a week ago now- and you are the first person to make such comments! I don't think u can call me the trouble maker!!
All i am saying is- lets have some proof before u start spouting off on one!!
I wanted to congratulate Equifest on an amzing and well run show- which to me had a lovely atmosphere!

I think we should let the name stay in this case medic as there may be others who read the thread and think it is referring to her....at least by naming her, it is clear that the comments do NOT relate to her.

Thursday was the only day a cob championship went into the evening performance. Tori won the LW cobs with Blue Moon in 2nd. Soloman won the the HW Class with Lynn Russell in 2nd. Tori got the Championship. Everyone seemed happy to me so not sure where the problem is here.

I wasn't there so can't comment but I didn't think the original post referred to the complianant being one of the riders in the Championship - or have I got it wrong?

Are any of you moaning people aware that Lyn Russell was involved in a really nasty accident last week that nearly killed her. She was taken by air ambulance from her home and is going to be in hospital for at least a fortnight, she has multiple broken ribs. Back off you miserable bunch, your nasty words are the least of her problems right now

If you read reply #10, you will see that the original poster has said the person concerned was not Lyn Russell.
I am aware of Ms. Russell's injury and wish her a speedy recovery.

I know exactly who is being referred to here and facts need to be said!
this lady took her defeat in good stead, i should know as i spoke to her as she was waiting for the championship. no, she wasnt happy about being 2nd and although the winner is very nice it is not in the same league as this cob and the said cob hadnt put a foot wrong and didnt deserve to be dropped but then the winning cob was obviously the judges prefererence and at the end of the day its an opinion you are paying for. I could not understand the logic in then giving the 2nd placed cob the reserve but i think the lady concerned rode for her life and nothing moved or galloped as well as this cob in the champ.
Lyn Russell had a good show of sorts she was champion coloured with deimos over some very very high quality sections.
I think dont spoil it for us needs to get their facts rights and the young lady concerned would be mortified and very upset to read such complete and utter drivel written about her.
Her exact words to me were-not sure what that was all about, never mind, will not go under that judge again.
And she took it on the chin as you have to. Thats showing.

Totally agree with you in what you have said. 2nd place should def have won! Stunning amazing cob- and a really lovely girl that rides it!
But I think the original thread was referring to Thursday night's evening performance! However there seems to be no truth to this alleged incident anyway!

The trouble is that when you win and do keep on a winning streak, the world and its neighbours seems to want to hit at you hard, get well Lynn.

I was there watching for the whole week, i can't say i saw any bad behaviour what so ever, in fact a mature gentleman reduced me to tears when he leant over and shook the hand of the lady who stood reserve champion to him in ring 6 on the saturday! Why should this behaviour be suprising, it should be a regular occurance, unfortunately alot of showing people have forgotten their manners!
