How about two commentators - one to call out results etc, and Peter to compare and cheer the crowd up in between classes? I thought he was a hoot, lovely chap came and chatted to all the competitors and apologised for the delay (I offered him my hipflask in reward but he was very professional and didn't take up the offer - gosh I made good use of it freezing in the dark though!)

I have to say we have not been to RL for a few years but on our last visit we made the Supreme and had a great time. Peters commentary is part of the legend for us- loved it!

Good Idea i have made the suggestion we have a dedicated steward to go and get the details from the winners, just need to find someone to read them out, i hate tannoy systems and think Peter is very brave, so nice to hear a suggestion rather than a moan, was my first year and loved it and felt part of the RL family all weekend xxx

I think both are a good idea, Peter seems to revel in being on the mike but it might be easier for all if one was announcing and Peter did the running commentary bit as he gets very involved with the crowd which creates the atmosphere, braver than me I wont even use the tannoy in our office

Heya all, just to let you all know it was my husband that made the Youtube video. He came with me as I was helping out with the small Friesian and a Traditional cob. He obviously got bored with just filming them and decided to start filming everyone else lol. We got about 1 1/2 hours worth of film and he has just posted a new video up called The Royal London Show part 2 www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyAv73JMYkw leave your comments and feel free to let us know where you are in the video.

Bit late as a reply, but Royal London - Please - Never again. Poor judging (and yes we did ok) poor time management and I would never go again. we have backed this show for at least 5 years and even sponsored championships. Its steadily getting worse!! Sorry if I'm the only one. Two words - absolutely dire!

Completly agree! Qualified my veteran for "Inhand Veteran of Britian", but decieded to do the firday insted. As it is a long journey for us (2-3 hours), we do generally try very hard to make sure it works. But what a waste of a journey! Veteran judge didn't bother to ask the age of the pony, gave it a five second glance, and didn't bother looking at it again! The pony was 20, and qualified top of a 22 horse line up for the actual show. No, I don't have sour grapes, but surely age is a factor in these classes! As for the final line up-I'm pretty sure there was a un-sound pony in the rosettes. Not very impressed. Judging was off in several classes aswell, found secretarys fairly unhelpful. Well done, however, to everyone who went along!! XX
